The cultivation of cattle in the United States ensured that once the slaves were freed, there was still money to be made. Cattle was big business in the southwest with herds being driven to meet railways for transport to Chicago or Kansas City. Railways expanded to allow more cattle to make the trip. Cattle ensured there was lots of money during the late 1800's.
The biggest factors in the development of the cattle kingdom were the huge number cattle and the enormous expansion of grasslands available to feed the cattle.
good
It provided the means to transport cattle to eastern markets~NN
The expansion of railways was the direct cause of this.
it was built on the cultivation of maize and agriculture
The cattle industry and mining were very important in the westward expansion. They were two of the main reasons why the railroad was built. Without the railroad many small towns would not have been founded.
Ranchers hired cowboys to gather and drive the cattle east. The expansion of the railroads shortened the cattle drive, enabling the cowboys to simply drive the cattle to the nearest rail stockyard.
Cowhands, cowboys, etc.
So they could feed the east
Ranchers' intensive use of land for cattle grazing led to overgrazing, which degraded pastures and diminished the land's productivity. Additionally, the expansion of barbed wire fencing restricted open range access, creating conflicts over land use and limiting cattle movement. The combination of these factors, along with severe droughts and the rise of agriculture in the Great Plains, contributed to the decline of the cattle kingdom by making large-scale cattle ranching less sustainable.
As they moved into the rain forest, the Bantus stopped keeping cattle.
Both mining and cattle ranching expansion westward was a good thing giving them more room. The bad thing was they has less to give been so far way.
