It depends on the crime. First do a warrant search on the county Sheriff's site. If it's still there then it is active. If it is not, then search the clerk of the circuit court records. If it says warrant deactivated and file destroyed, the warrant is no longer valid.

It can depend greatly on what they are for. Remember: In most (all?) states the statute of limitations STOPS running if you leave/flee the state. Also, again depending on the offense, interstate warrants can be issued for your arrest.

They can, depending on the individual's state laws. Statutes of Limitations on misdemeanors customarily expire in less time than felonies. However, most (all?) states SOL's stop running if the defendant is out of state. In other words if you flle the state the SOL STOPS running and only starts running agin when you return regardless of the expiration time.

Twelve months, unless you flee the state, then the limitation statute stops running.

Does a misdemeanor bench warrant expires in Alabama?

Bench warrants don't expire. And if it actually is a bench warrant it means that you've already been charged, so there is no SOL on the warrant itself even though the misdemeanor offense itself may lapse.
