the way that they feed on something is they will pierce your skin and inject saliva in to you to keep blood flowing. next they will suck your blood until they have had enough. after that they hop off and leave.

Yes fleas do suck your pet's blood, however they won't suck it all out. The worst thing about fleas is they get everywhere and cause irritation to your pet.
