The first country was Poland. On 1 September 1939, German forces invaded Poland so on 3 September 1939, Britain and France declared war on Germany.
I don't agree that the war between Britain and Germany was inevitable because they could always have peace proposals and peace talks where they will talk about what will they do for the betterment of each countries.

By the end of 1940, Germany had conquered just about every country that had previously opposed it. The one country left unconquered was Great Britain, thanks in large part to the fact that it was protected by the English Channel.
Britain was the main country. Belgium was the second but it is in Germany.
Although Germany, Britain, and China are powerful countries, the US is undoubtably the most powerfuly.
