A long war with high casualties often leads to growing disillusionment among both civilians and soldiers regarding their government. Civilians may increasingly question the government's decisions, policies, and ability to protect them, resulting in protests and calls for accountability. Soldiers, facing the realities of combat and loss, may feel abandoned or unsupported, which can erode their trust in military leadership and the political establishment. Overall, prolonged conflict tends to foster skepticism and dissent against the government’s actions and motives.
There has been a lot of wars bro, and a lot of different reasons behind every one of them, reasons likereligious differences, disputes over land, generally just different opinions between groups of people.
British political views on World War I were largely shaped by a sense of nationalism and a belief in the necessity of defending allied nations against aggression, particularly from Germany. Initially, there was widespread public support for the war, driven by patriotism and the belief that Britain had a moral duty to protect Belgium and uphold international law. However, as the war dragged on and casualties mounted, political opinions became more divided, leading to increased criticism of the government's handling of the war and calls for peace negotiations. The war ultimately transformed British society and politics, paving the way for significant social changes in the post-war period.
During World War I, the U.S. government limited speech primarily through the Espionage Act of 1917 and the Sedition Act of 1918. These laws made it illegal to criticize the war effort or the government, imposing severe penalties for those who expressed dissenting opinions. The government aimed to maintain national unity and suppress anti-war sentiments, leading to the prosecution of individuals who spoke against the war or the military. This suppression of free speech raised significant concerns about civil liberties during that period.
More British soldiers died in WWI than WWII. However, far more civilians on both sides, and in every theater died in WWII. WWII lasted 2 years longer. The weapons used in WWII were far more lethal, including the A-Bomb. WWII was a war of annihilation of whole groups of people from the Nazi viewpoint. There was genocide in WWI (Armenians), but not on a scale seen in WWII. WWII saw the destruction of entire cities as a policy of fighting the war. The wounded were far more likely to die in WWI. WWI did not involve Asia. [How about Mesopotamia and Palestine?] It's hard to compare wars. There are many factors, and opinions. However, one way might be to imagine what the result would be if the losing side won. In that comparison, WWII was by far a more threatening war to modern civilization. ____ One needs to go a bit further than British casualties ...

Not all of the Jonas Brothers will even be old enough to vote in the Obama/McCain primaries. It is generally better to formulate your opinions of government officials from your own research and not the opinions of teen pop stars. See the related links below for more information on the candidates.
