Yes. They built Nuclear Weapons and showed the full effect. Surprisingly the Soviet Union won building the "Ivan" in the Arctic circle. But there was a little fighting and an attempt to actually launch nuclear missiles! This was in Cuba. Thats where the 'Cuban Missible Crisis' came from.
Korea was the FIRST "Limited War" (Vietnam was the SECOND) fought during the Cold War. Nuclear Weapons created the Cold War. A "Limited War" was fought with "limitations" on where the war would be fought and using only conventional weapons. Without Nuclear Weapons, the US/Allies would have probably invaded Red China, when Communist China entered the war. Which of course would have caused the Soviet Union to enter the war. Which naturally would have led to WW3. The Soviets tested their first Atomic Weapon in 1949.
You can not be really very sure how many are left, because when there is war, they will just make more atom bombs if they need some more.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Completely wrong. If the U.S. and Russia fought a nuclear war, the war would be over in a couple of hours at most and it takes months to manufacture a nuclear weapon. Also the war damage to the nuclear weapons production system would take years to repair before any manufacturing could begin again. There would be no chance to make any more.If the nuclear war was fought by other countries, perhaps they could make more but all the other countries nuclear weapons put together are less than 1/4 of those that either the U.S. or Russia have.
Nuclear weapons fundamentally altered the geopolitical landscape by creating a new paradigm of mutually assured destruction (MAD). The threat of massive, indiscriminate destruction led to a heightened focus on diplomacy and disarmament, as the Cold War standoff between the United States and Soviet Union demonstrated. Additionally, the existence of nuclear weapons increased the urgency of non-proliferation efforts, with countries striving to prevent the spread of these weapons to ensure global security.
The Atomic Age created the cold war. With nuclear weapons, total wars (such as WW2) could no longer be fought. Only limited wars such as the Korean War and Vietnam Wars could be fought. Limited to only CONVENTIONAL weapons (Non-nuclear).
the cold war was mainly fought in smaller countries, such as vietnam and korea. these countries were viewed as a battleground between the forces of communism and democracy. there was no direct war between the USSR and the USA, only an arms race to stockpile as many weapons as possible.
No country used nuclear weapons. Countries such as the U.S., U.S.S.R., U.K, China, France, & India did test weapons, but none were ever used in a conflict. no one fought at all during the cold war it was just threating the whole time
This is a war fought using Atomic weapons. Atomic weapons are weapons that use Nuclear fission explostion producing tremendous pressure and radiation. Later nuclear weapons were called hydrogen bombs that use nuclear fussion.
Every war that the US has fought except WW2 were fought entirely without using any nuclear weapons.
Using all conventional (non-nuclear) weapons to search out and destroy enemy forces.
That in the atomic age (atomic weapons) only limited wars can be fought. Nuclear weapons would mean total war.

Nuclear weapons led to the cold war. Noting else. No nukes, no cold war. If nuclear weapons did not exist, the US and USSR may have fought a regular conventional war, just like WW2...only it would have been called WW3. Nuclear weapons led to the cold war. Noting else. they fought with swords and other weapons they fought with swords and other weapons they fought with swords and other weapons

Cold War=Created by Nuclear Weapons (Atomic Weapons). LBJ was limited by the threat of atomic war. If nuclear weapons never existed, then the Vietnam War could've been fought like any other pre-atomic age war...invasion, using all weapons available (except for the non existing atomic weapons)...etc...etc.
there was no fighting, this was a stuggle between countiresAnswerThere was a lot of fighting, and millions died around the world, but there was no direct fighting between the global nuclear powers. It was fought with conventional weapons and tactics in places like Korea and Vietnam. It was fought with diplomacy. It was fought with Economics. It was fought with submarines. It was fought with spy satellites, spy planes, spy ships, and spies on the ground. It was fought with movies, television, radio, and newspapers. It was fought in every way you can think of except with nuclear bombs.
