The Casablanca Conference in French held territory was the location in which the first of the strategies for the Normandy Invasion began. They had to plan how they would start the invasion and bring it to completion. It was a difficult thing to do because they had to wage war in the air, on land and the sea. They had to figure out how to get over a hundred thousand troops behind enemy lines. See the link below for a great set of photos and story on the conference.
