About 4% of Canadians call themselves vegetarian. However, of the
4%, about 70% still ate meat or fish occasionally and about 10%
described themselves as vegan. That translates into about 1 200 000
Canadian semi-vegetarians including approximately 250 000 Canadian
vegetarians and 100 000 Canadian vegans.
Another study showed that 97% of Canadians still include meat in their
diets, 99% consume milk and milk products, 2.7% say they exclude meat
from their meals, and only 0.5% are strict vegetarians.
It is really difficult to answer such questions as being or not being vegetarian is completely a dynamic and individual choice and hence no record of such a thing is found anywhere.
The European Vegetarian Union (EVU) provides the following statistics:
Vegetarians - < 1,200,000
Percentage - < 2%
About 2% of the population in Canada is vegan. Since there are about 33 million people in Canada, that means that is about 670,000 vegans.
The Vegetarians - 1914 was released on: USA: October 1914
About 4% of China is vegetarian. Since China has a population of , that is roughly 1,325,639,982 (1.3 billion), that is roughly 53,025,600 (53 million). But there are many unknown monks (Buddhist and Shaolin) who live in isolation, whom are also vegetarians, that percentage could be higher.
There are a few Native American vegetarians. Before colonialisation, they ate a mainly vegetarian diet.
one it is CANADA
Canada is a Confederation of many Nations, each with many cultures and many triditions.
Because they are referring to the person's diet. Many vegetarians call people who eat meat non-vegetarians while they usually call themselves omnivorous.
It is about a fair split. While some will remain partial vegetarians, many will ultimatel bdome full-fledged vegetarians or even vegan after many years.
