This is not legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. Consult the specific laws for the state and county in which you reside for the rules that apply. In most states, any 18 year old is considered an adult and is capable of deciding when and where they reside. They have the ability to contract for housing. SOME states allow minors to become emancipated under specific circumstances, but this is not just a matter of filling out some paperwork. A minor is the responsibility of their parents until such time as they reach the age of majority or are legally emancipated. The parents are required to provide for the support of their minor children. If the parents give permission, the minor can live in another location. Such permission does not relieve the parents of the responsibility to provide support. If the parents do not give permission, the minor can be considered a runaway. Charges may apply to individuals that aid and abet such runaways, particularly if they are under the age of consent. In some states it is my understanding that this is not enforced for 17 year olds that leave home. If you are subject to abuse, you should contact social services for your area. They will assist you in getting out of the bad environment and into a safe place.
SIMPLY PUT...YES THEY CAN, I DID IT WITH NO RECOURSE FROM PARENTS OR POLICE....

Actually, the age of majority in the state of Connecticut is 18 as well as in New York. I live in New York and about 5 years ago the law was changed to 18. I as a parent had my 16 year old daughter returned home on two different occasions from the non-custodial parent's home by the local sherriffs department. She was attempting to avoid parental rulings not in her favor. After two attempts failed, she no longer tried this manuever. This, 5 years later has proven to be in the best interest of my daughter, she agrees.

I also moved out at 16 and the police could not do anything. That was about 9 years ago and to this day still feel it was in my best interest, however i also knew a kid that moved out at 16 just about 2 years ago and their mother tried to get the police to interfere but they would not saying they could not legally bring the kid home but only tried to persuade them to. Perhaps the law has changed in ny, but it hasn't in ct.
No, the legal age of majority is 18. You would need parental consent or to be legally emancipated in order to move out. At 15 this is unlikely.
== == if you have a job a form of transpirtation to ur job and a place to stay you can move out at 16
Eighteen.
At age 16
As long as you are a minor your parents will decide where you live. So if you when you are of legal age want to move to the other parent and they are willing, then you can move. In Idaho it's at 18yo.
i think you have to take this to the courts.
No, you will your parents' consent.
When emancipated which is usually 18yo. You can also move if you have parental consent.
No. They will be considered elopement/runaway.
you can leave home (with parents permission) at 16 so you probably can move to your other parents house. (If you wait one year then you can leave and get your own house).
Yes with parental consent.
A teenager's parents can give them permission to live elsewhere, but could demand that they move back home if they change their mind. The only way for a 16 year old to move out of their parents home and be permanently independent would be to become legally emancipated through the court.
Only an adult can move out. Your teenager has to grow up first. Click on the computer and then search house. A taxi will come and your be sent to the deposit in the neighbourhood where you can drag it to a house.
Normally 18. Below 18 the teenager is considered a child and is in the care of her parents, who have the right to constrain her movements
Yes, if you have parental permission. Otherwise, until you reach the age of majority for Louisiana, you can be reported as a runaway.
An unemancipated 17-year-old, even a pregnant one, is subject to the control and authority of their parents. So, the answer to your question is no.
Legally a teenager under the age of 18 cannot move out of their parents home in Florida. This law applies even if the teenager has a child of their own and you would have to have permission from your parents.
You can work hard to make the relationship between the adult and the teenager high before asking them to move in or you can conbine there housholds
You have to be 18 to legally move out of your parents house. However, your parents can sign a form that says that you can leave legally.
In the US, by having a child, the teenager is legally emancipated from her parents. Therefore, she is free to move out at any point in time given she can prove that she can provide for the child. If her parents chose to take her to court, she may lose custody of the child if there is not a substanial method of income, shelter, food, clothing all the basic neccessities. If she were to move out, she would have to become an adult and do everything that an adult would do.
No because you are under house arrest. The teenager needs a parent or guardian to move with him.Another View: Since the individual is 18 and (in the US) legally an adult, he MAY choose to move out of his parents home,However - they will have to petition the court for the courts permission to change their residence. He can only move with the courts permission. If the permission is granted, the new location for his house arrest will become his new residence.
