Pokemon was invented by the director (forget his name) and he remembered catching bugs as a child and wanted other people to do it too. so he made a video game where bugs/ animals can do special powers. he had help with his good friend ken sugimori for the drawing part.

∙ 10y agoThe person who originally created the game out of his love of bugs as a child. He began to create the creatures that he called "Capsule Monsters." At first, they rejected his idea, but after changing the name to "Pokémon" (pocket monsters), and with a few different designs, they took the idea and created the franchise that they have now. As a little fun fact: he always envisioned bugs crawling across the link cable when you traded the Capsule monsters, but they changed it to the cable spitting the pokeball out on your side, due to the pokemon that were not bugs.
