Ball joints on this car, like most, are pressed into the lower control arm. If you don't have a good pneumatic press, you either take the lower control arm off and take it to a mechanic, or just take the car to the mechanic. If the ball joint fails, the wheel falls off. Considering the importance of having the wheels stay on, I would let a mechanic with the proper tools handle this. I do brakes, shocks, struts, tie rod ends, half-shafts, engines, but not ball joints.

The ball joints must be pressed out of the control arms using a ball joint press. This is most easily done with the control arms removed from the truck.

If you do not have access to a ball joint press, it may be best to purchase new control arms with ball joints preinstalled. This will also give you new control arm bushings which is good for ride and handling. Aftermarket adjustable upper control arms are available allowing for correct wheel alignment which may not always be possible using OE style arms.

The question you ask is too involved for a proper answer. You may want to go to a car parts store, and get a repair manual for your car. They cost about $16.00 Or, go to a Public Library.
