inside of van in vicinity of heater core. to remove, remove battery from engine bay to access bolt that holds it in place
Check the PCM = Power Control Module aka Computer. This has happened to me in the past and what was happening was the wire harness that plugs into the PCM was binding up somewhere and pulling out from the PCM. In other words, No PCM - no run run.
it is run off the PCM you dont require a code.
The PCM (engine computer) provides the power.
11: No crank signal to computer. Fault in wiring between crankshaft position sensor (CPS) and ECM ( PCM or computer ) or faulty CPS.12: Battery disconnected. Battery or power to the ECM disconnected in the last 50 key cycles.66: TCM to PCM failure. No message from the Transmission Control Module (TCM) to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
In your PCM not the alternator Its built in the alternator be sure that you replace the alt with the same amp. alt it could be a 90 or 124 amp alternator. Replace the belt while you have the alternator off.
Yes, it has a PCM, which is what most people call a "computer".
the PCM relay is mounted above the PCM in the passenger kick panel , take a flash light and look good ...it should be mounted to the white plastic holder for the computer .
Under the hood, drivers side, right above the steering column.
The pcm computer is mounted on the firewall on a 2000 Ford Ranger. It is on the passenger side under the hood.
I just learned something ! That the EEC computer and the powertrain control module are the same thing ! On the 1991 and 1992 models the powertrain control module (PCM) is located in the right front passenger area behind the right side kick panel.
On 1991 and 1992 Ford Explorer's , the powertrain control module (PCM) is located in the right front passenger area behind the right side kick panel by the passenger's right foot.
You will not fix a transmission issue this way. If you want to erase the PCM KAM data, disconnect the battery for 5 minutes. What that will do is erase all learned stradegies, revert the PCM back to original stradegies, and force the PCM to relearn everything, which it will have everything relearned in one drive cycle. This is not going to fix your problem though. You have either a transmission problem or a transmission control issue. The PCM learned stradegy is not the problem.
Modern vehicles have their timing set by the PCM (computer), there is no adjustment.
The idle speed is controlled by the computer ( PCM , Powertrain Control Module )
PCM is the abbreviation for "Camshaft Position Sensor" and can be found on top of the front cover (Timing Chain Cover) where the Distributor normally is at on a Ford. PCM is abbreviation for powertrain control module (computer) And is located Under the relay and fuse center in the engine compartment
How do you replace the PCM ON A 1994 Ford Tempo GL?
It's controlled by the PCM (computer)... there is no idle screw
