check an inside switch that would turn it on and make sure it's not all the way on, to the left I think if it's on a rotary knob, or the wire came off a door post pin so that when the door is closed the light would go off, but not if a wire is off.
there should be a fuse labeled IOD check that fuse if there isn't one check all of the fuses.
Likely, check the fuse panel for blown fuses. if this doesnt solve the problem you likely have a short in the wiring under the dash. you also should check the bulbs for the interior lights, its also possible you have them switched to off, where they wont come on at all. check the one in the center of the vehicle to see if it has a switch, if it does make sure its set to DOOR, check the fuses and bulbs, then if these are all set and it doesnt work have a mechanic check your wiring.
bad wireing or your insterment panel dimmer switch is bad
Make sure that you used the correct bulbs. If you look at the bulbs in the store, you will notice that some bulbs have one element in them and some bulbs have two elements in them. If you bought the bulb with only one element, you won't have break lights - just tail lights. You need the bulb with two elements. Check the book at the auto parts store and make sure that you buy the correct bulbs. I'm having the same problem with my 1991 Honda Accord. I'm not getting any power to the break lights. The one in the back window wont work either. The Tail lights work but the break light wont. Fuse and bulbs are good. Please help.
on the back of the car
Either a fuse is blown or bulb or the door jam switch is malfunctioning.
i have the same problem my dash light turns on when i turn on the interior lights but when i turn on only ........the dash light they wont turn on but they work when the interior lights are on ........so they do work .,...is there a separate fuse ?
If it's all of them, check fuse, if just one, check bulb.
If your interior lights are dimming, either your battery or starter could be failing. You should have your car checked.
The first check would be the fuse for the dash lights. If the dash lights are out too then it is likely to be the fuse.
You may have a blown fuse.
check for a blown fuse.
my head lights wont come on ,,all other lights work ,,no head lights
Check The small switch the doors close on. They may be sticking and need some lubrication. If that doesn't work, locate fuse and pull it. If lights go out, there may be a short from the fuse box to the switches. Follow wire from the side of the fuse cavity that has no power with fuse out, looking for any damaged sections of wire or wire touching metal. It also may be something in the dimmer knob for the dash lights or the wiring for that. Try turning the knob as you go to dim the dash lights. If you feel a little click it's just that the switch was set to keep the interior lights on.
It can be your switch or the fuse try checking the fuse first.
that means your battery will be dead in the morning
If only the interior lights won't work, check the fuses.
