My guess is you have a Ford product. It would be nice to know that info. If you do, spray the latch on the doors with a light lubricant such as WD-40. Open and close it and spray again.
I am actually looking to fix that same exact problem on mine. Mine happened after the alarm went off when I unlocked the doors on the fab. I heard through the grapevine that their is either a short somewhere from the lights to the hub, or one of the door switches, that tell the car the door is shut, isn't recognizing closure. If I get mine figured out, Will get back. Otherwise good luck and if you figure it out post it on here. We had the same problem several years ago. On ours, the plate on the driver's door that holds the door shut was broken, however, the door still functioned. The lights would stay on, and the alarm would go off. What I ended up doing was finding the fuse for the lights and the alarm and unplugging it. I also made a new plate to go in the driver's door where it latches, and coincidentally, the switch for the dome lights push on that plate to turn the lights off. Best wishes and good luck!
I have run into the same thing with this kind of car. On the steering column at the top they have a switch that will turn the running lights on or turn them off. check the switch you may have hit it and turn it on.
owners manual fuse box interior lamps pull it then figure it out no sense in a dead battery
Check the circuitry to the backup lights. The same fused circuit is probably used for both brake lights and backup lights. As you go past Reverse, the backup light probably is turned on briefly, causing the fuse to blow. It's just a thought, but I'd think it worth checking.
it depends does the car turn over if not most likely it the starter
Why do interior lights stay on when engine is shut off on 2001 Lincoln Continental car?
that means your battery will be dead in the morning
yes, because your lights run on your car battery
Lights inside the car. Dome light, courtesy light, etc.
Figure it out...
If your interior lights are dimming, either your battery or starter could be failing. You should have your car checked.
Interior lights, instrument panel and ignition are car parts.
No. The lights are switched independently of the transmission.
I am not too familiar with the 1996 Concorde, but most of the newer vehicles turn on the interior lighting when the ignition is turned off. This is to allow you to see inside the car before exiting without having to turn any lights on. They should turn off after about 40-50 seconds, or when the doors are locked and the alarm is activated.
