"kg" is a unit of mass.

You can measure the weight of an object with a scale. Once you know its weight,

you can convert the weight to mass, if you know the acceleration of gravity in the

place where you are. The same mass will have different weights in different places.

For example, if you have a rock with 1 kg of mass, it'll weigh about 2.2 pounds on Earth,

but only 5.8 ounces on the moon.

If you live on the earth, then divide your weight in pounds by 2.205 .

The result is your mass in kilograms.

Note:

If you live in the rural UK, multiply your weight in stone by 6.349 .

The result is likewise your mass in kilograms.
