Did you know the first literal case of a computer “bug” was recorded by computer scientist Grace Hopper in 1947? The story is that an error on the Mark II electromechanical computer was traced back to a moth that got trapped between relay contacts. The log book noting the error and the moth itself is housed at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
