We must use:
(Force) = (Mass) x (Acceleration)
Force = 400 N
Acceleration = 9.8 m/(s^2)
Mass = M
400 N = ( M ) x ( 9.8 m/(s^2))
After calculating, we find the mass of the man to be 40.82 kg.

∙ 14y agoAny body that is in free fall has no weight at all, regardless of its mass. If you neglect air resistance, and any friction between the elevator and its shaft, then neither the elevator nor the person in it will have any weight. Note. the newton is a unit of force, not weight. The person in this question has a mass of about 44 Kg; when standing on earth this will be a weight of ~ 44 Kg. Standing on the moon the weight would be ~7 Kg, and in free-fall it would be zero.

∙ 6y agoA 60 kg person stands on a scale in an elevator.
(a) What does the scale read (in N) when the elevator is at rest? N
(b) What does it read when the elevator is climbing at a constant speed of 4.5 m/s? N
(c) What does it read when the elevator is falling at 4.5 m/s? N
(d) What does it read when the elevator is accelerating upward at 4.5 m/s2? N
(e) What does it read when the elevator is accelerating downward at 4.5 m/s2? N

∙ 14y agoif you take the force of gravity as 9.8 then the scales will read 40.8kg but if you take the force of gravity as 10 then the sscales will read 40kg

∙ 12y agoThe answer would just be the weight converted into Newtons because the question is asking for the Weight force, so the weight needs to multiplied by the force of gravity, 9.8
well I would say using newtonian mechanics he would weight as F=M x g, 75x9.7 which equals 727.5 newtons.
We have no way to calculate that, unless you also tell us either his mass, or else his weight on motionless ground, like when the scale is on the bathroom floor.
The v in the formula for density stands for volume.
E=hv where v is suppose to be the greek letter (nu) which stands for frequency. h is planks constant. E is energy.
The Greek letter "mu," looks like a u with a longer tail on the left. It stands for the coefficient of friction for the specific material.

It may be called "the constant term".
Tree stands for hunting have become a very popular feature for hunters. Tree stands are available from Summit Climbing Tree stands and Family Tradition Tree Stands.

H in chemistry stands for hydrogen. In Physics is stands for Planck's Constant In measurement it stands for hecto~ ( prefix meaning 100)
Kf stands for the freezing point constant of the solvent.
Either called a "term" or a "constant"
The y-intercept. Ex: AX-BY=C The 'C' stands for constant and is the y-intercept. Was this helpful?
