The Bay Bridge (not to be confused with the Golden Gate Bridge) connects San Francisco with Oakland.

The bridge extending over the San Francisco Bay is named the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, but is locally referred to as the Bay Bridge. Approximately 280,000 vehicles travel across the bridge every day.

The Bay Bridge is in the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California. It spans the bay, connecting Oakland to San Francisco via Yerba Buena Island.

Which bridge? There are two. The Golden Gate Bridge goes to Marin County, which is basically the county north of San Francisco. The Bay Bridge goes to Oakland and the East Bay.

The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge is part of Interstate 80. It is the direct route from San Francisco to Oakland. It is 10 lanes wide and carries on average 280,000 vehicles per day.
