Ha I am trying to calculate the same thing for me and my boyfriend.I want a more accurate estimate so that we can budget easier but it's really hard to find that information. It mostly depends on the cost of living in your area. You might want to look up local electric, gas, cable, rent, and insurance costs. Insurance will be a tad high until you reach about 25, so if you have two cars it might be tough. For me and my boyfriend right now it's looking roughly about.....
$500-$700 rent
$180 combined insurance
$75-$100 electric/water (they are combined where I live)
$75 gas bill
$100 cable/internet
$200 groceries
$100 phone service
$100 gas
and about $200 for extra expenses
plus more if we want to actually go out once in a while.
We're looking roughly around $1600-$1700 a month. Hopefully you have as good of jobs as we do! Even with our jobs though we are still having to try to find ways to pick up extra cash once in a while. And I would suggest setting up a savings for emergencies. It doesn't have to be much to start off with, but building it will really help you in the long run.
Hope this has helped! Don't forget to configure all of your bills.
