If you're referring to the Torah, the Torah is not the "Jewish law". Torah means teachings and the prevailing tradition is that it contains 613 mitzvot or guidelines.
Jewish law is called 'halacha'. Halacha is recorded in the Talmud, not the Torah and there are thousands of laws.
