At the deepest level, the Kingdom of God consists of everything seen and unseen. It is all One. God is everything (and nothing, some say). God is all-encompassing, all-powerful (omnipotent), all-knowing (omniscient), and everywhere all at once (omnipresent). So, yes, the Kingdom of God is already here (but on the human level, where we still experience suffering and hardship, it sometimes feels llike not yet).

Is God still up there in Heaven?

According to scripture God is everywhere. However, Jesus, in Luke 17 ( the Pharisees question Him about the kingdom of God, Heaven) verses 20-21 says, "It is not over here, it is not there, but the Kingdom of God(heaven) is within you. Paraphrased. So don't be so concerned about where God is. He is in your heart, and that is heavenly!

What is the meaning of Luke 17 verse 20?

"Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."This short extract confirms that 'the kingdom of God' is not a place. It's not simply 'heaven'. It's not somewhere in the sky where we go when we die. It's not even a metaphorical state of being.Jesus makes it very clear that he was here to point people to the Kingdom of God, not only then, but also here and now. Put simply, the Kingdom of God is God's way of doing things. Regarding the Jews then, and us now, we are obsessed with our own self-importance. We think we know better than the God who created humanity in the first place. Therefore, Jesus proclaimed God's way of doing things and not man's. Hence, our attitude to how we regard God and, just as importantly, how we love each other, must be written in our hearts. That way of doing things, that attitude in how we look at the world, the whole framework of our lives, must be God's way of doing those things and not the flawed bigotted way that humans look at the world. In this sense, the kingdom needs to be rooted deeply within us and written on our hearts. Therefore, while on earth, we see merely glimpses of that perfect kingdom - or, if you like - glimpses of heaven - in another's smile, a kind deed or a soothing compassionate word. That is God's kingdom, only to be perfected when we are in God's presence after we die, for eternity, and when that kingdom comes to perfect fruition.
