A:No, The Bible never speaks of Adam and Eve eating an apple. The only fruit they ate was the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil - the forbidden fruit. By eating this fruit, Eve and Adam became like gods (Genesis 3:22: "And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us..."), but had also become aware of their mortality.

Yes, Adam was with Eve as one would expect at this point of the story:

Genesis 3:6New King James Version (NKJV)

6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

1 Timothy 2

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Galatians 6

7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Adam was with Eve and knew exactly what she was doing!

The Bible does not give a reason for the existence of the Adam's apple.
