The answer to this question is not as simple as it seems. The Kingdom of Heaven is the only route to Heaven and eternal life in God the Father. It is only the unbaptised who lead an evil life who are excluded from the Kingdom of Heaven. All baptised persons enter the Kingdom of Heaven along with those who carry with them the innocence of childhood, those do God's will etc.
This does not mean that all who enter the Kingdom of Heaven will eventually attain eternal life in God the Father. It should be noted that the Kingdom of Heaven will be delivered to God the Father on the Last Day when the good and the bad in the Kingdom of Heaven will be separated. "…Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father." (Matthew Ch 13).
AnswerI think it is that if you do sin, and you do not repent or ask God to help you truly repent, that will keep you out of Heaven. If you do not fully accept Jesus and God into your heart, that will keep you out of Heaven.
