According to wikipedia it says its Russia is the most populous European nation and rank 2 goes to Turkey. However some consider both Turkey and Russia as not being European countries. But rather they are Eurasian countries. There's a big difference. Among the proper European countries, as of 2022, the most populous is Germany at ~83 million people and rank 2 being France at ~68 million.
This is a difficult question to answer, since the population keeps changing. We do know that the continent of Africa has 1.216 billion people as of 2016, and the majority of them are black; some sources say that Nigeria has the largest black population of any country in Africa. Countries with the largest black populations outside of Africa are Brazil (about 50 million), the United States (about 42 million), Haiti (about 9 million) and the Dominican Republic (about 8 million).
There are 35 countries with populations over 39 million. A few of the countries are South Korea, Colombia, Ukraine, and Spain. Sudan is the 35th.
London, Paris and Kiev
Brazil, approx - 192 million, Colombia - 45 million, Argentina - 40 million.
The European Union is not a country. It is an orgainisation that has 28 individual countries as members. So it would not be listed on a population list as a single group. Each individual country would. Some have very large populations, like Germany with over 80 million. Others have smaller populations, like Malta with only about 420,000 people.
Chad or Guinea or Rwanda or Senegal or Somalia are the countries with populations around 9 million.
About six million.
Two countries with large Kurdish populations are Turkey and Iran. Turkey has the largest Kurdish population, estimated to be around 15-20 million. Iran also has a significant Kurdish population, estimated to be around 6-8 million.
The total population of the 28 countries of the European Union in 2015, is about 508 million and rising.
The most widely spoken in Europe is English. The most spoken languages in Europe, with the numbers of speakers, are: German 84 million (Germany + Austria + part of Switzerland) French 70 million (France + part of Belgium + part of Switzerland) English 67 million (UK + Ireland) Italian 61 million (Italy) Spanish 46 million (Spain) The figures are calculated by adding the populations of the relevant countries. They are approximate only. Russian should be somewhere in this list has about 150 million speakers, but I can find no figures which say how many of these are in Europe. The three most populous countries in the Americas are:1) United States (320 million+)2) Brazil (205 million+)3) Mexico (120 million+)* Portugal, Spain, and 13 countries in West Africa are technically in the Western Hemisphere, but none of these have larger populations.
Israel has a Jewish majority (75%). In all other countries Jews are a minority; with large Jewish communities in America, Britain, Canada, France, and lesser numbers in other western European countries.
A pentillion was the name proposed for what is not known as a quadrillion = 10^15. This was necessitated by the confusion between the US and European use of billion (thousand million or million million) and higher numbers. New names, based on Greek roots, were proposed. In many countries the European names have now been dropped in favour of the US names. So the next term would have been a hextillion.
