How do you tell the age of a dollar bill?
The closest you can come to telling the actual age of any US bill is by looking at the Series date on the front. no, they won't always grow to full size. like all fish, they will grow based on their environment. if u have them in a bowl, they might grow another 1/2 inch...in a large tank (30 plus gallons) they will grow much larger.

Goldfish are the same as any other living creature. Cut off or reduce their Oxygen and they will start panting for breath and eventually die. To ensure your fish do not run out of Oxygen you need to observe and follow the basic fishkeeping rules which are :- 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water. :- Every tank needs to have a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank needs at least 50% of its water replaced every week. Keep to the above rules and your fish will stand a chance of survival. Fail in any and I can guarantee that your fish will have constant health problems and will live a shortened life span.
When is the correct time to replace my bio-max media rings to my fluval 405 aquarium filter?
There is no "correct time". I would suspect that their lifetime would be many years. The media rings should only be replaced if they are decomposing or are totally blocked and have lost all their ability to house the bacteria that forms as and where they are supposed to. The normal thing to do is to wash about 3/4ths of them well and then only rinse the other 1/4 before putting them back to work in the filter thereby keeping the cycled bacteria alive and working.
I have a betta fish that was quite happy until the summer was over and I also went away for vacation. When I returned, I noticed that the house was a little on the cold side and apparently, Bettas are tropical fish and need at least a temperature of 75 degrees. Also, be sure that when you are changing the water, the temperature is as close to what he was previously in, when you made the water change, and also that chlorine water has been treated before adding to the fish tank. Use a tank warmer....
Yes, i just took mine to Petsmart because my betta was literally at bottom and breathing but not eating looking like it was going to die. the answer: it's TOO COLD AND YOU NEED TO GET A BETTA WATER HEATER OR HEAT UP YOUR HOUSE. or your fish is old and dying.

The big red spot on the stomach of your fish is probably an ulcer: bacterial infection that took place after a parasite made a wound there. White feces usually indicates parasites also. I'd recommend treating the tank with a .3% salt concentration, treating the tank with an antiparasitic medication (to kill off the parasites) and start feeding the fish an antibacterial medicated food to kill off the bacteria that are causing the ulcer.

Tap water is perfectly OK for goldfish. All you need to do is make sure the added chlorine/chloramine is either chemically removed using a chemical additive available at petshops or if your water provider does not use chloramine all you need to do is let the water stand in a bucket for a few hours or overnight and the chlorine will evaporate off.
Yes, however it looks a lot more like yellow then gold to me. Not really. There are no gold or silver(metallic)inks available to use in a tattoo. If there were they would most likely be highly toxic. However,you can find a good artist, who with shading a use of various colors can give the illusion of gold in a tattoo.

Every fish lives in a different inviroment.If its a tropical fish and the water is to cold it will die.

Fish with a deformed spinal chord are usually destroyed and do not turn up for sale. (except as feeder fish)There is nothing you can do for it. MY advice is to euthanise it.
