Zoo Nkauj means pretty when talking about a girl. Saying it is hard to type out. The Z in zoo sounds like the g in gee. The 'oo' in zoo sounds like "Young". Nkauj sounds like Ncow with a tone that starts high and falls to a normal tone.

I know that after birth, Hmong women are only supposed to eat boiled chicken. I dont think it really matters during pregnancy if you eat the chicken or not, but its extremely important after pregnancy.

Ho Chi Minh. However, the Republic of South Vietnam does not exist anymore. Saigon was renamed Ho Chi Minh City in honor of Ho Chi Minh, who was considered hero to the communist government during Operation Ho Chi Minh, a successful attempt to capture Saigon and force the Republic of South Vietnam government to surrender. Referred as Saigon to foreigners but Ho Chi Minh to local people.

The Hmong had a long previous history of serving as mercenaries for the French in Southeast Asia. They were in action with the French at Dien Bien Phu and when the US came in, it was a natural for them to seek employment with this new military force.

Look it up and you will see that the US government was shady and was involved in bringing opium to the states in their planes, and using Hmong people for militant duties with promises of bringing them back with them..Instead they got abandoned, and many were killed for siding with the Americans. Some things make me wish i wasn't born into this country.
