What is the best home alarm company in Las Vegas?

Las Vegas obviously has high crime rate so getting a good one is criticle. I personally have Protect America that I chose from a review site (Alarm-Reviews.Net) and I love them. They called me the instant my alarm went off, even though luckily it wasn't a actual break in.

Be careful if you choose a local ma n pa shop in Vegas because then if you move you have to switch companies and cancel your contract. ADT, P1 and Moni are some of the typical large nation wide companies, and while their customer service may be slow their monitoring / call time I have found to be good.

Guns and dogs are definitely a good back up to have anywhere and in Las Vegas. Your home alarm can be a third line of defense.

What are alarms?

Alarms. This form of therapy uses a sensor placed in the child's pajamas or in a bed pad. This sensor triggers an alarm that wakes the child at the first sign of wetness. If the child is awakened, he or she can then go to the bathroom and finish urinating

Does high schools do fire drills?

Usually in high school fire drills, the fire bell sounds and the teachers tell the students to walk calmly in a single file line to the place of safety, usually a hallway or interior room with no windows or heavy filing cabinets. Then a principal or something comes on the PA and tells everyone it was just a drill and they can all go back to class.

Under US fire codes, all schools k-12 are required to hold monthly fire drills.

Can you unlock a car by sending the remote's signal via cell phone?

No, because as the signal sent through the cell phone is wireless, and as the signal is sent farther it changes. The signal from the remote is "coded" to only unlock one car. The range of the remote's signal is only a few miles. Another answer I tend to disagree and say yes. Where i live security is a huge issue and because of the crime literally everything is done via cellphone. Car alarms, car locks, house lights, house alarms, even the pool pump can all be switched on and off via your cellphone anywhere in the world where there is cellphone signal.

Can the theft deterrent system on GM cars be by-passed?

Supposedly there are bypass modules....some are so that the remote start systems can function with the security system in the car....others are just strictly to bypass the security system intirely. I have seen some websites that sell these modules such as Ebay but there are some more specific car sites that sell them too. I have read a few things on this recently and it looks as though GM has used the Passkey I, II and III systems. The year, make and model of the car depends on what system was used and what type of bypass you will need.

What is loctronics?

An anti theft device for cars. It disconnects your ignition with a keychain. Without the keychain in, you can't start the car at all.

2000 Volvo S70 How do you reset the alarm system so that the key can be removed from the steering column you had to start your car from a rolling start on a hill and by doing so my key doesnt come ou?

The Alarm does not affect key removal. If your key will not come out and your key cylinder is all the way turned to off then the cylinder is bad. If you can not turn the key all the way off then you have a shift linkage adjustment problem or break pedal switch bad or adjustment problem.

What would cause interior lights and side step lights to continuously stay on in a 99 Lincoln Navigator?

You probably have a door sensor out, they detect whether or not the doors are closed, so the car thinks a door is open. It is a little button that gets pushed in by the front of the door by the hinges. They are cheap and easy to replace.

If a remote starter is installed at an alarm shop will that void the factory warranty?

It is against federal law for a dealership to tell you your warranty is automatically void.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVRYj7fLqPw

But be careful who installs your remote start. No licensing on the local, state, or federal level is required for ANY shop! If a Remote start is installed improperly and the dealership can show or prove the remote start is at fault then it COULD VOID your warranty.

Some Dealership personnel are telling customers that if certain products are installed on their vehicle that they will automatically void their warranty! That is totally false and against the law.

US Code - Title 15, Chapter 50, Sections 2301-2312

Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)) .Service advisors that tell customers their warranty is automatically Voided if they add wheels, remote starts, fog lights, etc are IN VIOLATION of Federal LAW. For best results, consider working with customer service-oriented dealerships with a proven history of working with customers.

If federal warranty protection is denied, contact the FTC at (202) 326-3128 or www.ftc.gov

How to reset securiLock anti-theft system?

Turn the key into the off position, then turn all the way on with out turning the motor over and let it sit like that for 10 min without touching it. This will reset the anti theft program in the cars computer. After 10 min turn the key to the off position and then try to start the car. It works everytime in this situation. Cars come into my shop all the time for this same issue and other shops stick it to people that are not aware of this common GM defect. I hope this helps and saves you from being ripped of by greedy shops.
