Alarm Systems

No they do not have alarm systems.

To disable the system, you press the menu button and turn the round dial similar to that of the volume. Sometimes the car lights can't work due to the system.

the truck has to go to the dealer and get recoded to the car. this happens sometimes on the ml. i work for the dealer.

You should be able to use your key to unlock the driver's door to deactivate the alarm or to use the remote control. If neither works, there is a button in between the AM/FM and CD button on your Honda stero, and holding it down will deactivate the alarm.

Switch Off and On ignition key 5 times and start the car. After this it is activated.

One under the hood on the driver's side, with a flip up lid. Mostly engine and high amperage fuses. One under the dash, driver's side. A little black box. Take the lid off. Oh, and you probably will have to lie on your back looking up to check any of the fuses. Not difficult, but not real comfortable.

The alarm is part of the programming of the BCM and can not be removed

it could possible be yes, did you have a alarm on the car and now it wont activate, you just installed a alarm, you dont know if it has a alarm or not (but you think it does) these are questions i will need to help diag. your problem.

96 Monte Carlo's are equipped with GM Passkey II. A wire runs from the computer up to the ignition switch and back to the computer (The 2 wires run into the steering column inside an orange shroud. The wire measures resistance from a resistor in the key. If you have a loose connector or if the resistor on the key is worn down... the computer cannot read the correct resistance and thinks the car is being stolen. If the computer cannot read the resistance at startup, it will disable the starter and fuel injectors for three minutes. The easiest fix (although it disables this security feature) is to measure the resistance in your key (the little chip on the part of the key that goes into the ignition) using a multi-meter, then buy a resistor from radio shack of the same reistance; then hook the resistor to the two small wires in the orange shroud underneath the dash going into the steering column (leaving the wires coming out of the steering column dead). This way, the computer always reads the correct resistance. If you're worried about losing your security feature, you can also place a toggle switch on the wire to disconnect the resistor when needed. If you don't want to get this hands - on... take it to a dealer for a new key and possibly ignition switch (40 for key / 90 for ignition switch)

If the alarm is going off. press the unlock button on the remote key fob. OR Disconnect the main car battery and wait for the back-up battery to go flat (when the siren stops). If you fully discharge the ecu by leaving the vehicle for some period the alarm will be reset. OR Go and see your local garage.

Yes, cut the red wire.

Chrysler does not have reset or kill switches.

There is a module behind the carpet..drivers side next to where your right foot goes. I have the same problem with a 1997 Chevy Van. The problem seems to be that GM states that a 50 milliamp draw will kill the battery, and that the alarm system is < 50 milliamp, but I can find out how much less.

I have killed several batteries because of this.

Now the trick is to put in a new battery.

When you connect a new battery, the alarm goes off.

To prevent this, with the new battery disconnected, turn the key in the ignition to ON. Make sure the door is closed, and then connect the battery.

This prevents the alarm from going off.

What I did was to install a battery disconnect switch that I use when the van is sitting for more than a week. Now after it has been sitting for awhile, I go out, put in the key, flip the battery switch, hop back in and the car starts.

Try to start the car, it will quickly stall and go dead. The theft system light will be flashing. Just leave the key on after it goes dead for about 10 mins. until the light stops flashing and just stays lit. Turn the key off,then start the car.

you might have to unplug the fuse.....but in my case my car wasnt starting because the security was activated and it was stopping the power signal from getting to my ignition coil so that i could get a spark. Its hard but i had to follow the wires to the security sensor and disarm it that way...good luck

i have an 98 accord & u have to roll the window down so u can lock trhe door from the inside then stand on the out side & unlock the dorr with the key then lock it back then unlock it again but hold the key down for 5 seconds when u do it & it should deactivate hope iot helps u

The fuse for your alarm is the same one that wont let your car start if its out so you cant just pull the fuse most likely youll have to take it ti a dealership or have someone who knows what there doing disconect it cause if not there goes your whip

My remote has a red button,to lock the system, black button to open the system, and a green button to put on the lights. How May I replace this remote without getting a stimullus grant from the government.

This is a sign that you might need a new car battery. Check with the company who installed the alarm, they are probably familiar with this and can tell you what to do.
