Which is better Assassins Creed or Mirrors Edge?
That's a hard one; In Mirror's edge you knock out authoritarian freaks, and have more parkour moves than you can imagine (for a game, anyway) the FPS aspect of Mirror's edge is minimal, it's much more hand to hand - or simply avoidance in general. I haven't played much assassin's creed, but enough to get the gist of it (the previous poster didn't give any information on it, really) it's much more combat-rpg based than Mirror's Edge, meanwhile mirror's edge is what I'd consider completely experimental. Mirror's Edge is one of my favorite games, and I never really cared for the combat aspect of Assassin's Creed, so I'm a tad bias here (but at least I'm more coherent than that other guy, but at least he contributed.)
Let's just consolidate the basics:
- Mirror's edge: (1st person perspective )
- Epic parkour (this is based on your skills, not a skill tree. In other words, Faith is as good as you are)
- melee fighting (and some guns)
- I personally liked the plot - it was a lot like a movie really
- Faith is hot.
- On the downside: It's a closed world (but, first play through it does feel fairly open) and doesn't have much replay value because of this
- *Still waiting on Mirror's Edge 2, which may come out in the near future now that BF3 is done.* It's supposed to be a 3 part series.
2. Assassin's Creed: (3rd person perspective)
- Lot's of fighting and killing, if you're into that kind of stuff =p
- open world (in other words, replay value bonus).
- I feel that it's closer to a classic RPG than Mirror's Edge - this can be a pro or a con really.
- Sequels, for better or for worse.
- On the Downside: Combat while being much more of a focus of the game than Mirror's Edge, didn't click with me.
- Plot was spoiled before it even came out.
So really, it's completely dependent on your tastes in games. I'd get Mirror's Edge, but one of my best friends is in love with the Assassin's Creed series.
