The Assassin's Creed Series is about a man called Desmond Miles who ran away from his parents and went to a place called 'The Farm' and was raised as a modern day assassin there. A few years later, Desmond is captured by these people called the Templars which are Desmond's enemies in the game and the 'Templars' are looking for certain objects called the 'Pieces of Eden'.

At the start of the first Assassin's Creed game you start in a machine in the 'Animus' which has the ability to project Desmond's mind into his ancestors i.e; 'Altair Ibn-Al Ahad' who lives in Israel & Syria which is the person you play as.
