Athena is the Goddess of battle, but mostly battle strategy. Ares is the real god of war. The sign/mark of Athena is an owl.

Athena knows all, she can make great battle plans that never fail.

Athena's story is that she was born in Zeus's head, that is also how she got her knowledge in the Greek myths.

The Greek Goddess Athena did many important things, she made the plans for battle, she fought with all knowledge which won many great battles for the Greek Gods.

Before, she was planning to trick them by telling them she had to finish a blanket for Odyssey's father, but they found out and eventually forced her to marry one of them. It was either that or the kingdom would've been destroyed. Plus, she was lonely.

Athena has many brothers. Which are all half-brothers because it is believed in ancient Greek mythology that she did not have a mother and was born from Zeus' forehead.

However, Zeus had many affairs and so had many children whom are Athena's half-brothers and half-sisters.

But for the sake, Ares is probably the most known god to be Athena's brother, as well as her opposite, and he is the god of war.

Athena and Poseidon both wanted to rule this one town so to settle it they both had to give gifts to the town and the best gift wins the control of the town. Poseidon went first and he gave them a spring at first it was great but then the people tasted it and it tasted like saltwater from the ocean. Athena went next and gave the people an olive tree and it gave the people food, oil, and wood. So they picked Athena to rule and now the town is called Athens.

Nike is the goddess/personification of victory. Athena is a warrior goddess, unlike the other warrior olympian, Ares, she favored diplomacy, and was thought to be more decisive and tactical. Where as Ares just enjoyed bloodshed and fighting for the sake of fighting.

Most depictions of Athena holding Nike derive from what was thought to be her statue in the Parthenon. Holding Nike in her open extended hand was like her extending victory to the Athenians. Whom she was the patron deity of. In fact the name Athens comes from her name.
