First you need a ratchet with 3 socket sizes. 7,10, 15...Empty out gas tank as much as possible first........there is two size ten bolts behind the license plate on the side on the gas cap, remove. Go under the car jack up from both sides near passenger doors. Right behind the gas tank closes to back of the car there is a wire connection take off. Behind the back end of the fuel tank closes to front of the car there is two covers each has 4 bolts size 7, remove. If you look up at the fuel lines there is 3 wiith a brace bracket holding them in place remove bracket by hand. After that you will see two bolts which are size 15. One on each side. Slowly remove and have a helper unless you can with hold the weight. by than you will have thank on the floor.If you look at the top of the tank you will see 6 bolts hold down where your fuel pump is. remove bolts but remember how the holes are align. slowly take fuel pump out replace fuel filter n pump and fuel sending unit if necessary. I would either way. now reassemble. Also make sure to take off the battery terminals and fuel fuse which is number 13 under your fuse block under the hood. I did this too my 94 fleetwood today alone. Simple job but make sure you have block or anything to help level the tank to align fuel pump back in.

Fleetwood Brougham is rear wheel drive. Cadillac Fleetwood is front wheel drive

There are two coolant temperature sensors. One is located near the water pump and the other on the head above the starter.

Check the Power Seat Control Switch first to see if it is defective and then use a test light to see if it is getting power to the switch.

The Gears that move the seat can break and the seat will not move at all and you will hear a noise.

If the gears are stripped I would recommend taking the whole seat out and you can take the seat off the frame which holds the seat and gears and go to a Salvage Yard and purchase the seat frame with the Power Seat gear box and wires all intact.

I had a mess trying to repair just the gears.

Fuse box is located under the dash on the drivers side. Its mounted up against the firewall in the left corner.

Only 8,336 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham coupe's were produced in 1985 and was also the last year of the coupe body style. If you look hard enough there's always one for sale but be ready to spend $$$$. ;)

1980-1984 Coupe Devilles will also fit and I tell u what, if u find the doors, they are very very expensive.... I got a pair of solid one's from 1981 Coupe Deville that i paid back in 04 for 700 bucks that Im planing to put on my 1985 Brougham

did u check the antifreeze/coolant level because my 91 fleetwood was doin the same thing i filled it up and now the heats comin out real good

Cracked head , or Head gasket blown ( replace ) STARTING WITH THE HT4100 CADILLAC MOTORS IN 1982 DEVILLE ALL THE WAY UP TO AROUND THE 1990S 4.1 ENG 4.5 4.6 4.9 CADS HAD A SP PELITS THAT YOU HAD TO BY FROM CADILLAC THAT HELP COOLANT FROM GETTING IN THE MOTOR IN OTHER WORDS LIKE A RADIATOR STOP LEAK BUT IN THIS CASE BLOCK SO EVERYTIME YOU CHANGE YOU COOLANT YOU WERE TO ADD THESES PELITS ,,CALL YOU CADILLAC PARTS DEPARTMENT THEY ARE CHEAP AND THEY WILL KNOW JUST WHAT YOU NEED .....WY THEY LEAK,,, ALUMINUM BLOCK FOR LESS WAIT AND STEEL SLEEVES FOR THE PISTON WHERE PUT TOGETHER USEING SEALS. GOOD IDEA MAKING THE MOTOR ALOT LESS HEAVY SAVING FUEL EXC. BUT YOU HAD TO KEEP THE PELITS IN THE COOLING SYM. JUST LIKE THE OWENNER MANUAL SAID Blown headgasket------cracked head or block

look everyone on heres makin it look hard i did both mine in 2 minutes crawl under your car reach behind the light turn it pull it toss it get the new one but dont touch the glass the oils on your skin will make it break when they get hot so where gloves insert the new bulb lock it in DONE!

GET THE HAYNES REPAIR MANUAL FOR THAT GROUP OF CADILLACS CH 6 HAS THRM ALL 86 to 90 Broughams were incapable of pulling DTC's through the climate control head. To perform a self diagnostics on them, you have to jump the terminals on th ALDL. Follow the instructions in the link to pull DTC's.

YOU HAVE TO EXPLAIN IF ITS THE RELEASE OR PULL DOWN THATS NOT WORKING.

I'LL GUESS THAT IT'S THE PULL DOWN. IF THATS THE CASE AND THE MOTOR IS

GOOD,(RUNS IN BOTH DIRECTIONS WHEN 12VOLTS IS APPLIED) IT'S MORE THAN LIKLY

THE LOWER SWITCH THATS MOUNTED ON THE MOTOR. I WOULD RATHER KEEP THE

ORIGINAL THAN GO TO MANUAL,IT'S NOT A BIG JOB.

The wiring diagrams for these electronic details aren't included in the Haynes or Chilton manuals, but there are good diagrams and fault search test procedures for nearly all electric accessories of the Cad in Cadillac's own workshop manual. It is a thick book but very very good, and can still be found at eBay.
