- Absolutley! Rats like to climb. You can make a playground through the bid cage with rope, cardboard, and really anything else. You rats would love it!

my sisters mouse is pretty active. if your mouse doesn't move much or isn't on the wheel much (assuming you have a wheel) then he/she may be dead. also, you could try cleaning the cage and if the smell comes back he/she is alive. another thing could be put him/her in the ball (assuming you have a ball) and seeing if the ball moves. counting pellets. it shouldn't be too hard to see if your pet mouse has passed, as they are usually active animals.

It's just how they've evolved. They do it for the same reason wolves, people, and birds live in groups. It helps them survive better, and so they've evolved so that being in groups makes them happier. Just like humans, mice who live together lead happier and healthier lives. No. Rats, will die of dehydration without water. Like humans and pretty much all life on Earth, rats need water to live. With juicy fruits and other moisture-rich foods they could survive for a while, but they would have to rehydrate one way or another.
You can run it under hot water till it thaws completely. Just with de-thawing a solidly frozen mouse under hot water, you have to make sure its thawed completely. what I like to do, is keep the mouse in its bag and then just hold it tightly for a few seconds, the surface of the skin may feel warm, but if its still a bit frozen inside, doing this will let some of that cold seep back out to where you can feel it and know its not quite ready yet.
I prefer to just take them out in the morning, let them thaw on the counter throughout the day, and then feed at night, running just a bit of hot water over them to get them warmer than room temp. But I've done both to de-thaw my mice.

But they can and WILL eat through ANYTHING....cement...drywall...wood...ANYTHING....rats and mice have VERY LONG sharp teeth, and they are ALWAYS looking for something to "file" down their teeth. yes, infact, baby mice are talented swimmers. I suggest teaching them before they grow hair, because then the skin cells will grow accustom to water, and the hair will grow in water resistant. All mice are natural born swimmers from birth. They can hold their breath for up to 3 minutes! I have taught many baby mice to swim, and this is the easiest way! Make sure the water is not too warm, because this can irritate the young skin. It all depends. It is more likely that large cages will cost a hundred or more, but it could be less. What size do you want? I suggest looking at ferretstore.com and other similar sites. A large, well designed cage for ferrets is a necessity. Some features to look for are solid floors and shelves / balconies (wire mesh is hard on the feet), and ideally solid ladders, too. Multi-level cages are nice, but depending on the arrangement of the levels, falls are possible. Get extra shelves or use hammocks to make cages safer if necessary. A ferret cage can be obtained at most pet stores, EBay.com, Amazon.com, or you can locate a used ferret cage on Craigslist.org, or ferret shelters also sell cages.
