Because she was just released last night, your tax dollars failed to prosecute her, and are now being used to protect her.
March 19, 1986
The State of Florida prosecuted Casey Anthony. The people representing the State of Florida were Assistant State Attorney Linda Drane Burdick and Assistant State Attorney, Jeff Ashton.
I don't actually think there is a reason. It was an accident, there was no duct tape involved. Caylee accidentally drowned in a swamp.
Ms. Anthony will never tell and, since she has been found not guilty of the crime, the public may never know why she had to die. The first answer is an opinion. Opinion is all the answer you can have at this point so I will give mine.
If the child died accidentally, it was due to her mother's efforts to keep the child with her to thwart her parents' efforts to control her activities and keep Caylee under her own control. She may have wanted to have fun without her parents knowing what she did. She may have experimented with putting the child to sleep while she did what she wanted, then escalated to taping the child's mouth in case she woke up and called attention to herself. She could have died from an overdose of whatever her mother gave her to make her sleep or from suffocation from the duct tape.
If the child was deliberately killed, it may have been to permanently end her parents' control, but in my opinion, she killed her to 'keep her mouth shut'. Caylee was two, going on three. At that age children tend to say what they're thinking without editing. The time was coming that Caylee would tell that Casey never went to work or that she would leave her alone while she went out. The duct tape may have been the means of her death but the use of the tape and the fact that it wasn't removed when the child died tells me something.
Either accidental or deliberate, the tape around the mouth was the only evidence on the body that indicated foul play (other than being left in the swamp). I believe that Casey's subconscious led her to leave the tape as a way of saying 'you will never tell on me'.
According to a jury of her peers, she was pronounced not guilty in the death of her daughter on July 5, 2011.
Casey Anthony did not go to college. She did not get her high school diploma.
When Caylee Anthony's remains were found on December 11, 2008, the body had already decomposed completely and an autopsy could not determine a cause of death. Because the child had not been reported missing by her mother, the remains were found stuffed in bags in a swampy, wooded area, and there was duct tape wrapped around the skull, it was determined that the child was murdered or that she had died as a result of child abuse.
Due to the complete decomposition of her remains, the exact date and cause of her death remains unknown.
No, she is not going to adopt a child.
In her own little mind.
The home where the Anthony family lived is on Hope Spring Drive in Orlando Florida.
I doubt it. It would be very unprofessional for him to date a client.
Although Anthony has been on trial for the murder of her little girl, some people are starting to question whether or not it was on purpose.
Casey Anthony is currently living at the Orange County Jail in Orlando Florida.
In the guilt phase of a criminal trial a jury that is not unanimous is considered a 'hung jury'. At the point where jurors are hopelessly deadlocked the judge will dismiss them and the prosecution must decide to retry the case. If they feel it's a strong case most prosecutors will try the case again. This leaves everyone back at square one. Jury selection begins and the entire process is repeated with the new jurors. It's expensive for taxpayers and torture for the family members of the victim(s) and the accused. The only bright spot is that both the prosecution and the defense get a second chance to correct any errors they may have made during the first trial.
Though their is no solid evidence that Casey killed her daughter,
it is believe that if she did kill her, it was because she wanted to live a responsibility free lifestyle, in which she can party and be with friends, without carrying the burden of a child.
The Casey Anthony story isn't really so important. There are many, many cases where a child disappears or dies and the parent is the only suspect. For some reason, this case captured the attention of the public, most likely because of the frantic search for the missing child and the last person seen with her would not help the authorities in finding her and kept misdirecting their efforts. With most of the facts of the case in question and the unusual behavior of the 'lead character', the story was a great opportunity for the media to spend hour after hour speculating and holding the attention of the public.
Sentencing can occur at any time from the moment the person is found guilty, up to a couple months later. Normally the judge will order a presentence investigation if the person was found guilty at trial. Oftentimes sentencing occurs as the result of a plea offer that the defendant has taken and the court has accepted.
At the sentencing hearing the state or federal government will argue its case for which it feels the defendant should be sentenced to. The defense follows, obviously for a shorter sentence. The judge could then ask anyone, for example, the victim or his family member, to speak to the court or to the defendant, in the form of what is known as a victim impact statement. Then, the judge will ask the defendant if he has anything to say prior to his sentencing.
The defendant will then be asked to stand up for his sentencing. The judge will then come up with a speech to explain why he came up with the sentence he is about to impose. Finally the judge will impose the sentence. The defendant is then escorted from the courtroom in handcuffs to begin his sentence, or will be asked to report to the courtroom at a later date to begin such sentence. If the sentence is probation, the defendant will be ordered to report to the probation office immediately after the hearing.
It depends. If at some time he gave up his parental rights than he probably would not have a strong case. If he was, at least in a limited way, involved in Caylee's life such as visitation and support I would think he may have a case.
When Caylee Anthony's remains were found on December 11, 2008, the body had already decomposed completely and an autopsy could not determine a cause of death. Because the child had not been reported missing by her mother; and the remains were found stuffed in bags in a swampy, wooded area; and there was duct tape wrapped around the skull, it was determined that the child was murdered or that she had died as a result of child abuse.
The exact means of the child's death could not be determined so we can only assume. There was clear evidence that some sort of drug was used on the child to anesthetize her leading to the assumption that mommy wanted her to be quiet while mommy did her thing. At some point, the child's face was wrapped in duct tape; it is unknown whether that happened while the child was alive, alive and anesthetized, or had already died. It is assumed by the many professionals involved that one of these occurrences or a combination cause the death of Caylee.
Since it could not be proven that the abuse was inflicted by Caylee's mother; and since Casey Anthony refused to provide any information that could lead to another suspect, her silence makes her an accomplice if anyone else was involved; which is highly unlikely, since the investigation was extremely thorough, that anyone else was involved.
Casey Anthony's arrest affidavit dated 9/15/08 states her height as 5'02".
There are several Casey Shults on Facebook, LinkdIn, and My Space and it would be impossible to determine exactly which one this question is about. There would need to be more information given.
Since Casey Anthony will not admit that she killed her child or caused her death, we can only speculate.
My opinion on the Casey Anthony story is that is one of thousands of family tragedies. There are many, many cases where a child disappears or dies and the parent is the only suspect. For some reason, this case captured the attention of the public, most likely because of the frantic search for the missing child and the last person seen with her and the person responsible for the child's well being would not help the authorities in finding her and kept misdirecting their efforts. In addition, the type of salacious behavior engaged in by the child's mother during the time she was missing is the type of thing that attracts the media and the attention of the public. With most of the facts of the case in question and the unusual behavior of the 'lead character', the story was a great opportunity for the media to spend hour after hour speculating and holding the attention of the public.
I don't know exactly how the child died but however she died, she was in the care of her mother at the time. A lot more can and must be inferred by the circumstances that followed her death. . I believe that investigators and the presecution did an exceptional job with a difficult case. The resources wasted following up Casey Anthony's lies and the time it took to locate the remains of her child made it difficult to prosecute the case. The final outcome rested on the opinion of the jurors who brought their own level of understanding of the evidence that was presented. Not the evidence or, more importantly, not the public opinion that the rest of us were exposed to.
This jury may have thought that she was the great mom she was portrayed and the rest of the evidence was confusing or pointed in too many directions so they didn't weigh it as heavily as her 'good mother' persona. We will never know unless and if the jurors have anything to say about their decision.
According to Casey's mother, Cindy Anthony, Casey attended Colonial High School in Orlando, FL, but she did not graduate. Casey left high school one half credit short of getting her diploma.
