Yes you can definitely give a cat too much Sub Q fluids. The general guideline is 10 mL per pound of body weight at any given time. Often if the cat needs more than that they recommend splitting the fluid between two treatments. So say an 8 pound cat with CRF is told to have 150 mL a day per the vet it is recommend to give 75 mL at a time 12 hours apart. You would also have to feel around their chest and legs to be sure they have absorbed the previous fluids. Usually absorption takes 4 to 8 hours. If you give too much fluid it can gather around the heart and cause heart failure.

Is it safe to feed your cat real chicken not cat food?

Can a cat eat cooked chicken as a treat? Yes.

Should a cat eat cooked chicken? If it was for a treat, yes. As part of the cat's main diet, no, definitely not.

Cooked meat hasn't got any of the nutrients a cat requires. Good, high quality cat food has plenty of meat and added supplements to give a cat all it needs. Raw meat contains many nutrients for a cat, but such a diet needs to be carefully planned and must also consist of organs and bone for a raw diet to be nutritionally complete and balanced.

First of all giving cats certain homemade food from time to time like roasted chicken is not a substitute for a carefully balanced diet.

Second of all claiming that cooked meal has no nutritional value for cats is not true. Cooked chicken has plenty of protein, vitamin-A, & other enzymes that are not easily destroyed during the cooking process.

Standard canned cat food is cooked and not raw. You just cannot start feeding your cats raw diet food out of the blue when they've been fed cooked can food or dry food most of their life's.

They are pets & not wild animals that are living on prey. They don't have the proper immune system to deal with many bacteria like salmonella present in raw meat like chicken.

Most important is to give them quality wet food with little or no filers or unnecessary garbage.

Cats can be pregnant for 61 to 69 days but usually it is 65 days. The right diet is essential for your pregnant cat. Don't get worried if your pregnant cat starts to sleep more and more. Inactivity and rest are perfectly normal during feline gestation. Once labor begins, your cat will start to purr rhythmically and breathe heavily. Delivery can be imminent, but it is also possible that it still takes a few hours before the first kitten arrives. If your cat carries a large litter, she may have problems cleaning herself. Groom her regularly, and clean her anus with a soft cloth - if the cat allows you to. Once the kittens are born the mother can be very protective of them.

Are dogs dumber than cats?

Nope, dogs have higher IQ(intelligence) while cats have better memories.

Well, there are different studies suggesting different things. And those studies can be biased toward finding certain things out and labelling their results 'intelligence'. For instance, it is well-known that dogs learn tricks faster and are more obedient than cats, though this doesn't IMO necessarily prove higher intelligence, it could just prove greater laziness in cats (something we also already knew) or perhaps this is an adaptation to dogs' social nature.

In my opinion cats are smarter. Most, not all, varieties of dogs are impulsive, reckless, reactionary animals of instinct. Then when they get themselves in trouble they just wimper and whine. Cats on the other hand are more capable of prior observation and then deciding on a next action. In other words: Pre-meditation. Cats exhibit more foresight, analytical, observational ability, caution and awareness of their surroundings than dogs (up to perhaps the senses of smell between the two, then that's another debate).

I think they both have good memory though, but I think a cat's memory is more visual than dog's but that they're both very smell-based.

Why is your cat sleeping a lot?

Out of 16 hrs. cats get about 5 hrs. of sleep. That isn't much of a nighttime sleep. Think of sleeping 5 hrs before getting up and staying up for a long time.

Do cats still have their testicles after being neutered?

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I think there are two different kinds of neutering: one where the cat keeps his testicles, and one where he doesn't.

The male cat that I had when I was growing up still had his testicles, even though he was neutered. That cat died, and four years ago, when I graduated college and settled into my own apartment, I got two cats from a shelter: an adult male, and a female kitten.

The adult male had already been neutered by the time I got him. And he does not have his testicles.

I was not involved with the neutering of either of those male cats: the one I have now was already neutered when I got him, and my parents took care of the neutering of the other one, since I was a kid.

So, I know there are two different kinds of neutering procedures, but I don't know much more than that, unfortunately.

The purpose of a cat is what?

My cat hunts mice, chipmunks and moles and keeps the rodent population in check. My neighbors appreciate the duty they are doing. The bubonic plague was caused by rodents because all the cats had been destroyed in that land. Mice can be a major problem if there are not predators to catch them. Cats also make good sympathetic companions when people in our household are sick.

Why do cats attack feet?

Kitten play always involves mock battles, with surprise attacks, pounces, and leaps. The kitty is basically trying to play, as he would with another cat. Direct him to less painful game play - chasing balls, cords, and so on.
