How do you do a gymnast scale standing on the floor What stretches can you do to be able to do it well Thanks?

To do a scale, stand on your base leg (to find your base leg pretend to kick something and the leg you use to kick is generally what you stand on), then you lift your back leg straight back and up. Try to keep your chest and head up and facing forward (not down). Scales don't require a lot of flexibility, but If you are having trouble with it, I would stretch my left and right splits. Also strengthening your back helps to lift your leg higher. You can do back raises (lay on your stomach and lift your chest and legs off the ground at the same time as high as you can).

What is the training experience and education needed to be a cheerleader?

To answer your question, it depends what cheer leading program you are deciding to attend. School's cheer leading, seems to only expect good jumps and maybe to throw a good back handspring, don't forget to have A LOT of spirit for your school! Any other gymnastics/cheer organization, I can't really say because I don't know all the expectations but I'll rank them if you know what "level" this place expects:

level1: jumps, cartwheels, and small stunts and beginning tumbling.

level2: level1+more advanced stunts and higher quality performance. possibly splits.

level3: level1&2+a back handspring or back walkover.

level4:level1,2&3 and a back tuck and maybe a front hand spring (NOTE=all on ground).

level5: all the levels but more advanced stunts with more complex tumbling

You are a side-base for cheer right now but am trying out to be a flyer any tips?

Tips: 1. Always be tight! Learn to do the "vacuum."

2. Always listen to your coach!

3. Do do be afraid to try new things - your bases will catch you. =]

4. "Push off" your bases when loading into a stunt - this makes it much easier for them to lift you.

5. Practice balancing yourself on the middle of your feet - it is easier for bases to hold your foot if you're not toeing or heeling.

GOOD LUCK!
