How to change the front axle oil on Isuzu trooper 2000?

DifferentialsIts going to be the same as the rear, in the middle of the differential where it bulges out and the driveshaft attaches there will be two plugs, one high and one low sometimes it is a square indented plug that a 1/2" ratchet will fit into and it may be a torx. You drain from the lower one and fill through the upper one till it runs out a little.... Done.

If it doesn't have the drain plug you need a siphon pump and a hot day or you will be frustrated to the ninth degree. Run the pump hose through the filler plug hole and start suckin'. The thick diff oil will come out easier the hotter it is; hopefully above 90 degrees F.

How to remove windshield wiper cover on avalanche?

Not sure what you mean by "windshield wiper cover," however if you're asking how to remove the rubber blade from the plastic frame - be careful. The end caps do come off but its not recommended. I recommend simply replacing the entire wiper blade. See videos on link below.

How do you reattach the front passenger exterior door moulding to a 1999 Jetta Wolfsburg that has partially come off?

Don't know if this is applicable to a 99 Wolfsburg edition, but this worked for attaching body-side moldings to my 98 jetta GL. Go to your local auto parts store and buy professional automotive-grade double-sided tape (I believe the manufacturer is 3M). First, choose a warm sunny day; temperature is critical for adhesion on reattachment. Strip the molding completely from the car's body (there is no advantage to keeping what little adhesion you have left......it will eventually go the way of the failed section in time, anyway). Remove as much residue from the strip and the car body as possible using your fingers (I wouldn't recommend chemicals or razor blades for this process, but take your time and try to get a clean, smooth, burr-free surface on both attachment points). Attach tape to the full length of the molding. Making sure the sheetmetal on your car's surface is relatively warm to the touch, remove the protective covering from the tape and in one motion (you won't get a second chance, so be deliberate) press the molding firmly in place. Run along the length of the molding, keeping firm pressure, with a clean rag. I did this about three years ago on a 60 degree day and the job seems more solid than when it left the factory. By the way, for anyone with standard wheel covers about to lose their VW logo caps from the center of the cover, this trick also works. If your molding is attached with clips, obviously you might want to research another method, as unless the backside of the molding is perfectly flat, the method of reattachment that was just described will be dubious at best.

How do you replace the serpentine belt on a Daewoo Leganza?

Most cars and trucks today have what is called a serpentine belt which runs most accessories. They are very dependable and usually easy to replace. To decide if your belt needs replacing, simply look at the grooved side of the belt to see if it is cracking badly. A couple of cracks every 3 inches is normal, but if you see cracks every 1-2 inches I would recommend that you replace it. On most cars and trucks the procedure is basically the same. First off, get the correct belt by bringing your cars VIN number to the parts store(located on your cars dashboard) the parts store may need it. If there are two choices, get them both so you can complete the repair. Once you have the correct belt, take a minute to review how the belt runs across the pulleys and also check to see if your car/ truck has a underhood diagram of belt routing in case you need it. In most cases you will need a socket wrench or breaker bar with either a 3/8" and /or 1/2" head on it and possibly a short extension. Some models may require a wrench of these similar sizes. Now that you are ready to go to work, you will need to find the spring loaded tensioner which is generally located near the top of the belt path; it usually has a shinny pulley on it. Look at the tensioner and insert the tool into it and apply opposing pressure to release the belt. Now, simply install the new belt making sure it fits into the grooves on all the pulleys. Start the car to check it and you are done and you saved yourelf some money!

How do you replace light bulbs on steering wheel of avalanche?

The switch assemblies are available from the dealer, but can easily be repaired if you have any soldering skills. (part # 7219 ~ micro lamps ~ at the Source) These can also be used to fix dash cluster lights that are out.

The biggest thing is that the little wiring harnesses are too short to reconnect. The switches just "pry" out of the wheel, but the connector is nearly impossible to reconnect. DO NOT pull on the connector end you'll just pull the end off.

You have to remove the steering wheel which involves removing the airbag. To do that pull the airbag fuses and wait 15 minutes for it to discharge, then stick a rod or hex key in the little holes you'll find on the sides of the back housing, you'll "feel" the "click" and pull straight out. Disconnect and place face up (carefully) somewhere out of the way. You can use a wheel puller (the easy way) or "jimmy" the wheel off disconnecting the harness. This will give you the slack you'll need to install the swithc(es). Trust me this is the best way.

How do you remove the back 3 spark plug wires on a 2002 3800 v6?

I'm looking for the same answer sort of... i know you need to tilt the engine forward, I'm just trying to find out if you need any special tools. I've heard "talk" about dismounting the engine by removing the front bolts above the radiator and then rocking the "SH*T" out of your car in park until the engine rocks forward and then slamming on the brakes. Sounds more destructive than anything. But i guess that's what they do at the mechanic. Could be true, if they break anything, you'll probably go back for them to fix it. :)

How do you change the rear brake pads on 98 Mazda 626?

Same as the front except don't try to compress the caliper. remove the cap that is in back and loosen with an Allen wrench

  • After you've installed the pads and put the caliper back on, retighten that screw in the back of the caliper with the Allen wrench until it is tight again, then back it off a quarter turn. This is to readjust the brakes. If you don;t do this the brakes will be really mushy.
AddendumThere is no Allen key or bolt to undo (unlike a Saab 9000). Instead, when the pads have been removed, you need to turn the caliper piston to retract it.Use a pair of pliers direct on the piston and turn clockwise to retract. This works!

How do you disable automatic door locks on a 2000 Chevy silverado?

the owners manual has the infromation to set the locks as you desire. Mine doesn't. What does the manual you are referring to say about it? 1. Pull back on turn signal/multifuntion lever, all the way toward you and hold it while performing the next step. 2. Begin with ignition in OFF, turn your key to ON. Return to OFF and turn to ON again. Then return it to OFF. Once you do this you will hear the lock switch lock and unlock. 3. You are now ready to program the auto locks. You will have 10 seconds to program once you release the turnsignal/multifunction lever. 4. Press the unlock side of the lock switch on the driver's side door panel 3 times to turn off the atuo door lock feature. No doors will lock or unlock. You can exit the program mode any time by turning the ignition to ON.

Replacing the serpentine belt on both V6 & V8 rear drive engine are fairly easy than front wheel drive. The belt is located just between the front of the engine and the radiator. You have plenty of clearance to work. Just need to losen the tension and the belt should come out. Putting the new one is the reverse process.

How do you change the cabin air filter on a 2000 Town and Country?

I have an 2002 3.8 T&C. The cabin air filter is located inside a thin black box under the glove compartment. Replacing can be a hassle. Slide the top of the black box which acts as a locking device towards you. The black box's lid should pop down to expose the filter. The filter sits inside the box (sort of cramped). Pull the filter down and discard. You may have to wiggle it a little. Insert the new filter into the narrow cavity. You may have to wiggle it again in order to get it in there. The filter has two "cut marks" that allow it to bend. I noticed that inserting the filter with these "cut marks" facing the right side of the van allow the filter to bend and a little easier to manuver into place. Again, this can be a little tricky since the filter does not go in easily. Finally, replace the black box cover aligning the grooves of the sliding locking device. Now, wipe the sweat off of your forehead. Cabin air filter? Never heard of it? Many newer cars have air filters built into the passenger cabin climate control system. Usually these are integrated in or near the fan housing behind the dash or are accessed from the engine compartment in a location against the firewall. These cabin air filters vastly improve the air quality inside the vehicle by removing dust, pollen, and other particulates.
