How do you open the door on a 1976 Corvette when it is stuck closed and lock is jammed?
The C3 (68-82) Corvette door mechanisms were greased at the factory. If never cleaned, that grease dries and/or gets dirty, to become like glue. I suggest spraying a cleaner or penetrating oil onto the mechanism. Roll the window down and use a flashlight to see the mechanism. While spraying, work the lock and/or door handle at the same time. This should jar the works loose. It may take some effort and time, but your patience will be rewarded. When you get the door open, remove the door panel and clean the works more thoroughly. Just remember to oil the latch/lock mechanisms up with WD40 or 3-in-one oil when you've got the majority of the old grease cleaned out, so that it won't get stuck again. It's a good idea to do the same to the other door then as well. If the mechanisms are in rough shape (sloppy movement or what have you) when you get the door open, seriously consider purchasing complete new latch units. It's really worth the money in the end. Hope that helps! -ku2002
Brake pedal slip on a 1990 corvette when hot why?
Not sure what brake pedal slip is, please try again and explain.
If you are referring to brake fade then the reason is that some brake pads are more susceptible to fade that others when they get hot. You may even experience the boiling of the brake fluid. In all cases it is caused by continual high speed braking. Brake fluid contaminated with moisture makes the condition even worse. Replace all your brake fluid with clean fresh fluid from an unopened container. Brake pads have a temperture at which they become ineffective. Replace your pads with high performance pads if you are doing some high speed braking. You may also need to change rotors to a racing type rotor.
How do I reset the airbag light on a 1990 Corvette?
Here are the instructions straight from G.M.
1. Turn ignition off
2. Ground ALDL Terminal K (this is the lower row, 3rd from the right).
3. Turn ignition on (don't start engine)
4. Wait for fault codes to begin flashing (approx 5 seconds). When the codes begin flashing, unground ALDL terminal K for 3 seconds + or - 1/2 second.
5. After ungrounding ALDL K as described in step 3 above, ground it again for 3 seconds + or - 1/2 second.
6. Unground ALDL K and wait 10 seconds. Before turning the ignition OFF, verify that code 12 is the only code being flased (this is the seatbelt/air bag light flashing). If not, codes have not been properly cleared. Repeat from step one if codes not cleared until the codes clear.

How much did a 1961 Chevy Corvette cost?
Economics: So let's say you outfit your new 1961 with a few goodies-the 315 bhp fuel-injected motor, 4-speed gearbox, limited-slip differential, brake and suspension package, and a nice hardtop. The cost increase of those items is $1,286, or almost exactly one-third the cost of the base Corvette, a substantial leap. (The hardtop, however, could be had for nothing if it was the only top you brought home.) But, mind that these aforementioned options are just for the enthusiast. Add comfort to that list and it would cost you around 500 dollars more-a heater for $102, a radio for $138, whitewall tyres for $32, power windows for $59, and a power top for $161. At least the most pleasing option, two-tone paint, cost only an additional $16, but that's enough to top the $500 mark. Total charge for a pizza with everything: $5,728.

I may be slightly off, but I have noticed the 'click' for the flasher is coming from the hazzard flasher button. I have removed the harness and found the turn signals do not work as long as the switch is disconnected. Hope this helps!! Just replaced mine. The Emergency Flasher switch (button) on the dashboard serves as the turn signal flasher also. Around a $35.00 item. You have to disassemble the face of the dashboard.. relatively easy, about 45 minutes.
