Why do your tires squeal making low speed turns in your 2004 Chevy suburban?

Perhaps worn tires (outer edges)

Tire pressure? I've been told that it is the result of imperfect geometry in the steering system, that one or both of the steering tires is not in a perfectly matched turning radius with the other. This results in part of the tread on one, or both, of the tires sliding [being pulled, or "scrubbing"] on the driving surface. That scrubbing, and the resulting sound your describe, is actually a mild form of the same squealing which occurs when "burning out," or when braking too hard.

What is the wheel bolt pattern for a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban 4 wheel drive with the 5.7 engine?

4 wheel drive suburbans have a 6 lug 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern. 1999 and older Chevy half tons (non 4x4) had the 6 lug 5inch bolt pattern but from 2000 on even those half tons went to the 6 lug 5.5 inch pattern.

Remember all 4x4 (4 wheel drive) half tons always had 6 lug 5.5 inch pattern!

What if the Wipers wont turn off after turned on in a 1987 brougham?

Guess you'll have to buy articulating eyeballs. I had this problem in a Buick of about same age. In the Buick, a connector swipes a metal surface within the motor, and at the end of each round "swipe" there is a small connector that turns the "return" circuit on if the wiper shitch has been turned off. In my Buick, the years of use had worn this piece off and the sliding connector couldn't "find" it. The fix is not easy; to take the motor apart and to use a soldering iron to build a new piece of connection, small enough so it doesn't cause other problems. This is a "farmer's fix"; these things are not MADE repairable... so it is a safer bet to buy a new motor (I don't know if this connector system can be bought separately).

Where is the fuse or relay that needs to be replaced located if the turn signals and brake lights are not working on a 4-way trailer plug on a 1998 Ford F-150?

In my 98 E250 van the fuses that ran blinkers for the trailer are in the front fuse box (engine compartment) turn on your blinkers and use a 12 volt test light poking into the hole on either side of the fuse If you get power on one side and not the other then the fuse is bad. Or just take them out and look at them one by one.

What could it be when my driver's side window goes down halfway and gets stuck in my 1999 Chevy Suburban?

If your driver's side window goes down halfway and gets stuck in a 1999 Chevy Suburban, the motor could be failing. It could also indicate the window is off the track.

Where is the relay for airmatic suspention pump on a 2000 Mercedes S500?

The relay is located in the right front of the engine compartment passengers side. There will be a black cover, release the 2 slide clips and remove the cover for access.

The designation for the relay is K40/7ko.

If your looking in at the relays from the passengers side of the engine compartment it should be the 4th relay from the left, once you pull the relay off it will have a designation under it. It should read O.

The fuse is in the same compartment. It's the first 40amp large orange fuse next to the 60amp large fuse. Check with ohm meter because the fuse is hard to determine if blown by the eye.

Where is the starter on a 2000 Tahoe?

Oil leak between the motor and transmission?

If it is red fluid leaking, then you have a transmission leak.

If it is oil then the rear main oil seal is leaking on the back of the engine.

You need to look at the top back part of the engine to make sure the back of the intake is not leaking oil, check back corners of the valve covers for leaks too.

Need to make sure the oil sending unit that is back beside the distributor is not leaking oil. Ruel these things out before you tackle the rear main oil seal.

How do you replace a passenger side mirror on a 2000 suburban?

I don't know if it's the same for a 2000, but I just replaced the driver's side mirror on my 2001 and it took about five minutes. There is a triangle panel at the front of the window. It will probably be easier to remove with the window down. There are clips on either side (at the top) of the triangle that attach to the door frame. Pull from the top detaching the clips and then slide it upward. You will then notice the three nuts as the mirror has the bolts. Unhook the mirror harness and remove the three nuts. Reverse the process and your done.

How do you raise oil pressure 5.7 vortec?

Replace the oil pump and you may even need to replace all the engine bearings too. You loose alot of oil pressure through the engine bearings if they are worn out. 10W30 Oil may raise the pressure alittle.

CR9640 >>SLICK 50> IT worked in less than a week, returned oil pressure for me on my 91 SUB w/350 TBI with 175k miles on it. OIL PRESSURE went from almost 5 lbs up to over 55 lbs (consistent) and still maintains plus 50lbs pressure at moving speeds. Idle drops to just above 30lbs after warm up. Engine is now at 195K miles and no adverse effects. No leakage, no smoke, no obvious problems. Only cost was less than $15.00 at WalMart. It is worth the investment to try it before expensive labor.

CR9640 >> UPDATE > 204 k miles, had to add 1 bottle Slick50, Oil pressure had dropped, now back up over 50 lbs 95% of time. Worth the cost versus repairs that I can not afford.

What could be causing the speedometer and other gauges on a 2001 Dodge Neon to sometimes stop working but the dash lights still work?

I have exactly the same problem with my 1996 Dodge Neon. It seems like the problem comes from the Power Control Module (PCM). It's due to either bad contact on wiring or the PCM is getting old and not functioning properly.

AnswerThere is good instructions of how to repair this problem at the following post. You must type it in at the top of page yourself.

AnswerI went threw the very same thing with my father's 1996 neon, it turned out to be cold solders (cold solders are solders that were not heated properly are the components may have moved while the solder was cooling) on the back of the instrument cluster. what you do is remove the instrument cluster (pop the cover and unscrew the cluster) put it on a bench face down you will need to unscrew the printed circuit board off of the instrument cluster, and take a soldering iron and heat the solders opposite the connectors until they melt than let them cool and reinstall it back in the vehicle. This should solve your problem it did mine on a 95 & 96 neons. Answeri have had my 1997 neon for 7 weeks now,and its done that to me 3 times, the first two times i removed the key and restarted the car, which worked , but didn't work the 3rd time ,,,so i banged on the dashboard, and that worked,so i assume there is a loose connection some where in the dash

You can just jam a rigid ball between the steering column and the speedometer

and it will work.

Answerhere's the solution to these problems. pull up on your dash board panel. It's only on with clip's.I belive you need the number 20 star bit to undo the hole instrument panel. There maybe some Philip head screws to. pull panel straight out (both sides have plug contacts.gently, take a small screw driver and bring them closer to each other.trust me, I heard it all, my fuel pump is going .on and on and on.I fixed the problem mechanic's.gentley work them to the center 0f each plug (do not bend them to much)they have to go in my 95 neon is working awesome with 88k's PS, buy yourself a 5 piece star bit's and damn metric socket's , if your really into it AnswerHad a 95' doing same thing. Started doing it at different outside temperatures, which made me curious about the expansion/contraction of the plastics used in the connectors etc. Most times I only lost my speedo, but other times all the gauges failed to work including tach, as time went on. You will notice when you remove the cluster, that the connector is clipped into the plastic panel behind cluster. I simply unfastened it the first time, and pulled it outward,to allow male spades on connection at cluster to be inserted fully without chance that maybe they weren't reaching far enough to make a good connection, and re-installed the cluster. This cured it for about a year, then the same happened again. This time I took the time, with a pair of tweezers, to bend each male spade on rear of cluster, slightly, one way or the other to insure better contact with the female connector in the dash. Evrything has been working excellent since. When it only takes about a half hour of your time, and no special tools, it's worth a try. The NO_COST part is always nice too.

AnswerThese cluster are very bad about going out. I have a 96 neon, and they stopped all together, but the lights did stay come on, and all the warning lights worked. After a little research I found out that these cluster do burn out, because they are digital. They are analog gauges, but no manual cables, they receive a signal through the two plugs that they hook into. Therefore they are considered digital, and the printed board in the back burns out just like a PC's motherboard. I replaced my cluster with another and it works fine now. AnswerI have a 1997 Plymouth neon and have the same problem, I tried checking the connections, and bending them little spade connectors, nothing worked. Except for reheating the little cold solders on the back of the connectors, in msome cases re-soldering some of them. It works fine now. Eric Yanush, Saskatchewan Canada

1995 5 7L suburban died one day and wont start tried to start it but it won't it just cranks and it won't turn over?

In a situation like that I always tell people to go back to the basics: Spark, fuel and Compression. If you have all three, it should start. The spark has to be at the correct timing, but if the vehicle was running and suddenly stopped, there isn't much reason to believe that the timing changed. The fuel has to be delivered in an approximately correct quantity for the engine to run right but it should at least pop and attempt to start. So... Start with fuel. Using starting fluid, spray in the throat of the throttle body while a friend attempts to start the engine. If the engine runs while you're spraying, you probably have a fuel problem. Check the fuel line for pressure. If you don't have any it's probably the fuel pump. It's in the tank and you'll have to drop the tank in a suburban to get to the fuel pump. It isn't as bad as it sounds. Disconnect the battery first. Siphon out as much as you can get easily, disconnect the fuel fill pipe from the tank, using a floor jack, support the tank while you remove the straps. There are usually only two. Once the straps are disconnected, lower the tank and remove the fuel line and the wires to operate the fuel pump and fuel gague. You'll have to clean the top of the tank so that you don't get debris inside, then remove the screws and work the pump assembly out of the tank. On the other hand... if you have fuel pressure and the engine doesn't start when you use the starter fluid, you probably have a problem with ignition. Pull one spark plug wire, then using a spare plug from some other source, attach the wire to the spare plug and lay the plug on a metal part of the engine, then crank the engine and watch the plug. If you have spark it might be something else. If there is no spark, find out why. It could be the pickup coil, electronic ignition module, high voltage coil or even a bad rotor in the distributor. It's all a process of elimination. Remember the words of Sherlock Holms, "When all other possibiliities have been eliminated..."

How do you replace headlight bulb in 2006 Chevy Suburban?

No tools required. At the top of the headlamp assembly there are two L-shaped pins that are snapped into a plastric groove. Rotate the pins out of the snaps and pull the pins straight up. The entire headlight assembly will now slide forward to replace any bulb. Details are also in the owner's manual.

How do you get the ball off your naval ring to remove it?

Generally you unscrew the top ball (the one on the top, outside of your belly button rather than on the under, inside), but sometimes if the ball is on there really tight you'll need to use pliers to unscrew it. Just be careful and make sure you don't lose the ball, but if you do you can always use a ball from another ring.

When you accelerate the engine revs past your shift points?

Revving your engine past its shift points is never a good idea. Unless you are on a track day, revving your engine past its limits not only means consuming more gas, but your car starts revving heavily and if you continue to do so, you will damage your transfer case.
