"The music of this prelude is a very free illustration of Mallarmé's beautiful poem. By no means does it claim to be a synthesis of it. Rather there is a succession of scenes through which pass the desires and dreams of the faun in the heat of the afternoon. Did Claude Debussy come up with the term impressionism and applied it to his music?

No; A critic saw a painting (Impression: Sunrise) by Claude Monet at an exhibition in Paris in 1874. He didn't like it, and mockingly called the show "exhibition of the impressionists". What are some good romantic piano pieces to learn written by composers other than Chopin Grieg and Debussy?

Not able to take lessons at the moment and was wondering what some good classical or romantic era pieces would be to learn and increase my skill and technique. I'm currently around grade 8 (ABRSM) level in terms of playing skill, and have learnt quite a lot of pieces by Chopin, Grieg, Debussy, Mozart and a few of the usual annoying fidly Bach inventions and want to learn pieces by other somposers for some variety but don't know what to learn or what would be good for my level to increase my skill, everything I look at is either too easy or too hard/technical =\ had a go at some easier rachmaninov stuff and yeah, that didn't go to well lol. Hardest thing I can play so far is, in my opinon, Mozart's K333 sonata (the whole thing) to give you an idea of the kind of level I'm at.

Please give actual piece names and numbers, not just the composers name.
