How do you change the flywheel on a 1988 Ford Ranger super cab 4 wheel drive?
I think you will have to take the transmission loose and back it up so you will have enough clearence to get to the bolts, there should be six bolts. if you have an atomatic transmission, you have to take the 4 nuts off that hold the torq coverter on the flywheel.there should be a cover for that on the front of the lower part of the transmission. you might have to undo the drive lines to get enuogh room to back the trasnmission up. And you will have to remove the starter also. all you need is enough room to get a wrench up behind the motor and take those bolts out. I think about 8 inches should be plenty . then remove flywheel and put new one on and torque the bolts down, and put back together. If your real good it should take about 4 to 5 hours, or more or less. Good luck

Have Your Linkage Looked At Soungs Like It Needs Adjusted. Not Sure On This Model But You May Have A Slave Cylinder Type System Which Is A Great Thing. Your Linkage From The Cylinder On The Transmission May Need Adjusted. This Would Be Between The Slave Cylinder And Clutch. Also Have Your Fluid Level Checked In Your Clutch System ( again not sure if they use it) Fill Fluid Level If Low. Also System May Need Air Bled Out Of It. Sorry For Not Having EXACTING info But This Should Help. God Bless
How do you bleed the clutch on a 1984 Toyota pick up 4wd?
Much the same way you do brakes. It is very easy to suck air up into the slave cylinder so I suggest that you put a piece of tubing on the bleeder valve and run it into a small bottle of brake fluid so if it does suck it will get fluid and not air. Have a helper pump the clutch several times and hold it down ( reservoir needs to be full) loosen the bleeder valve on the slave momentarily so that a short burst of air and fluid comes out but not so much that all pressure is used up. Repeat this until all air is gone and fluid runs clear making sure that the reservoir stays full. If you lose all pedal pressure and it falls to the floor then you have gotten air into the system and you will need to get it out. Its kinda trick since the air prevents the master from pushing fluid so what I had to do was use a fluid pump to push fluid up through the bleeder until it came out the reservoir and then start the bleeding process.
How do you install a transmission clutch on a f250 diesel 7.3 l?
not a job for the non mechanical person first you chock wheels on vehicle next remove driveshaft disconect clutch cylander fluid line you then need to use a jack to support rear of engine remove gearbox from vehicle usually need a transmission jack to do this next u then remove clutch from flywheel on rear of engine then check flywheel for cracks as this may need replacing as well if flywheel is good, u then install new cluch, u will need an aligning tool to lign up clutch with flywheel and to support while installing bolts,be sure to tighten bolts in proper sequence now is also a good time to replace clutch slave cylander then you need to bleed the cylanders replace drive saft also a good time to check and replace U joints if needed
What is the purpose of the thermostatic switch in a cycling clutch system?
A thermostatic clutch is usually used on a car's engine cooling fan. It uses a bi-metallic spring, which tightens and forces the fan to turn when the air temperature inside the engine compartment reaches a certain level.
Basically is used to prevent the fan from wasting your engine's power when there is no need for cooling, by allowing the fan to freewheel when the engine is cold. It then serves as a device to automatically engage the fan and keep the engine cool when necessary.

What size flywheel puller do you need for a 1999 suzuki vz800?
My guess would be 40mm female. I tried a 38 and a 42, 38 is too small and 42 is too large. I had a difficult time finding anything in between. I finally found a 40mm on eBay (surched the Dennis Stubblefield catalog and came up epmpy). I hope this works as I am struggling with the same problem you are, no one wants to list the VZ800 on their rotor puller sizes. My 40mm should be in in a couple of days and I pray it works this has been sooooooooo frustrating.
I got my 40mm puller in. the female threads fit my 2001 Suzuki Marauder, but the bolt (which is reverse thread) was too short to pull the rotor. I stuck a small socket into the opening in the center of the rotor and screwed the bolt in on top of that and was able to pull the flywheel. Now maybe I can finally get my bike back on the road.
