Your Saturn is stuck in reverse Could it be the clutch linkage?
There isn't any linkage, it has a cable, check to see if the cable is loose. There is a U clip that holds the cable in place,if the U clip is in place and there isn't any slack in the cable, it could be your tranny. Is the clutch disengaging? If when you push the clutch in the engine can be turned over or the car can be pushed, it is not a problem with the clutch.
What is the difference in flywheels on an 87 Monte Carlo with 4.3 liter motor?
most times the only difference in same models is the number of teeth on the flywheel so if flywheel is changed out. make sure same number of teeth, or you will have to change starter motor to match
Cost to replace the clutch in a Mazda Miata?
$500 - $600 for a mechanic to replace it with all new parts except flywheel, which is resurfaced. Doing it yourself will take between 8 - 12 hours, but will save the $300+ for labor. Tough job, though for diy.
there should either be a screw adjuster on the arm that pushes on the throw-out bearing or similar. I had many old Renaults and always did clutch adjusts on them without problems, don't remember exactly how. But if you aren't dissengaging then the throw-out bearing is not pushing in far enough, so you need to adjust so there is more pressure on the throw out bearing when it is not engaged, so when it is engaged (clutch pushed in) it pushes farther. Be careful or when not engaged you could have clutch-slip. To find the adjuster, find the arm coming out of the clutch housing, just follow it back and you will find the adjuster, has to be a screw pushing the lever, or maybe a screw on the back on slave cylinder that pushes the plunger in/out against the throw out bearing arm.
The master cylinder is not adjustable, the adjustment will either be on the slave cylinder or someplace in that area.
How do check the ac compressor clutch?
You can check it by connecting one wire from the coil to any ground and one wire from the coil to 12 volts, the clutch coil will energize and pull the front hub to the clutch surface.........
How do you unhook clutch hydraulic line for ford ranger from master cylinder?
Many of these, depending on year, came as an assembly and could not be disassembled from the line or the slave cylinder.
How do you bleed a 1987 Pontiac fiero clutch?
The slave cylinder is on top of the engine, under the intake ducting.
The bleeder screw is on top
Bleed the same way as brakes.
There are many ways to to this. My preferred method:
1: Park on level ground.
2: Set the (known working) parking brake firmly or block the right rear wheel.
3: Position the spare tire jack somewhat forward of the normal left side jacking point. About 3 or 4 inches from the forward edge of the left side rocker panel flange is good.
4: Raise the jack until the left front corner raises about 2 inches or so. A little more is okay too.
5: With the rear hatch (trunk lid, rear deck, rear hood) open, remove the air intake hose leading to the air cleaner.
6: Completely remove the bleeder screw from the slave cylinder. Verify that the screw is clean and the holes are not clogged. Clean or replace as necessary. Rinse and air dry first with carb cleaner, then water. Coat with brake fluid, then reinstall.
7: With the front hatch open, remove the cap from the clutch fluid reservoir and fill with fresh DOT3 brake fluid. DOT4 would also work, but isn't needed. Do not use DOT5. Leave the cap off for now.
8: Open the bleeder screw. Use a length of transparent, or at least translucent rubber hose to connect the bleeder to a hand operated vacuum pump.
9: Pump slowly four or five times. If you see no fluid enter the hose: check the fluid level at the reservoir (and top off) then repeat this step.
10: Pump the hand operated vacuum pump slowly until fluid flowing through the hose gets close to the pump.
11: Remove the hose from both the bleeder and the pump at the same time.
12: From this point on, remember to check the brake fluid level frequently and don't let it run low.
13: Watch that brake fluid flows (probably slowly and possibly with air bubbles) for a few minutes. If there is no flow, there is a problem in the system and bleeding won't fix it.
14: Close first the bleeder, then the cap.
15: Rinse away all spilled brake fluid with water. Use about ten times as much water as you think you need.
16: Put everything away, including the jack and air hose.
What specific kind of vehicle do you have? It does sound like the clutch may be bad, but we also need to know what you are working on. You need to run power straight from the battery to the compressor. If is still does not engage then you need to replace the compressor and clutch, they are dead. If they do engage, then you have a wiring or computer issue.
Do you have to shift a 1988 Yamaha 350 warrior with the clutch or do you shift on the go?
no you have to use the clutch if not it will take a toll on the clutches I have owned a warrior for over 5 years and never changed the clutches in it and I shift on the go. Mine won't let me shift in a higher gear if I don't have the RPM's. Maybe I am lucky, or maybe if the RPM's are high enough it won't hurt them.
Do you need to remove a transmission to change a flywheel?
Im just a kid, dont know what u talking 'bout.
How do you adjust the clutch cable on a 1989 Ford Escort?
Pre 1997/9 models of Ford Vehicles were self-adjusting via the clutch-foot-pedal. The pedal engages a ratchet system called the QUADRANT & PAWL and is part of the pedal. The mechanism is very similar on older Ford models of: Escort, Fiesta, Sierra, Granada, Transit & others. Newer vehicles may have a Hydraulic Clutch from 1997/9 onwards, and these work differently from the cable & pully mechanism. Clutch-fluid can be bled to improve the ability to operate the clutch, however this is not necessarily a method of adjusting the clutch.
If your reading this article because you have a broken clutch-pedal then please read on.
If when pressing the foot-pedal it feels like cable is broken, or pedal is loose, ...This is symptomatic of failure of the QUADRANT & PAWL 'ratchet' mechanism due to wear of teeth on the ratchet.
In some cases the pedal fails to pull the clutch out far enough to change gear, and may make a 'springing noise'. This is due to slippage on some worn ratchet-teeth, but the mechanism has not reached full failure. There are 2 ways to remedy the fault.
1. Change the Quadrant & Pawl, using only genuine Ford parts. #Beware of inferior mouldings that are not up to standard e.g. too soft, and do not trust 'pattern-parts' on eBay etc.
2. SHORTEN THE CABLE.

How do you adjust the clutch cable to a 2000 dodge neon?
pull on it. The sheath takes up slack... makes the cable shorter.
why do you think you need to change the clutch, the gearboxes on the petrol engined cars will be differant to the diesels. You would only have to change the clutch if it was not working

How to adjust hydraulic pressure with Isuzu forklif?
If the forks wont lift weight the seals in the piston may be worn..Turning up the pressure may not correct this problem..Most pressures in forklifts are factory set and should not exceed recommended values..There will be a relief valve near the pump or on the valve bank that will adjust the pressure. If the forks creep down especially with weight ...the seals are bad. If its just to lift something heavy and the forklift wont lift it, this item just might be over the forklifts capacity. If there is Water in the oil this can cause probs too.
Well, you're not going to like this answer, but if you're sure you got the air all bled out and the clutch disengages fully without issue, then the problem is most likely the transmission's shifting fork, you might get lucky and find an issue with the shifting linkage, but if its the tranny fork, bad luck, but better you than me! Yes, they are difficult to change.
Can crankcase oil migrate into the bell housing and contaminate the clutch?
Absolutely!.
If the rear seal on the crankshaft is leaking the oil from the engine can migrate to the bell housing and the clutch. It is also possible that the front seal on the transmission can leak and migrate to the clutch.
