Any stronger pain medications like codeine, or other opioids (narcotics) may not be used since they can suppress respirations and perhaps make it more difficult to clear lungs of secretions and sputum. Here is the equation, as of May 7th. I graphed the number of swine flu cases versus date on excel (with April 23 being Day 1). The graph was an exponential curve. In order to make a good regression, the curve has to be linear. So, I took the natural log (ln) of the cases, in order to make a near-linear graph. Then, I calculated the trendline.

Cry out exclaimations and implore the on-listener to "make it stop", "oh, God!", "Help", "please" and other expressions of discomfort.
Make sure you are behind a locked door, and flush the toilet afterwards if you are not using a fake vomit mixture.
How to fake vomit:
A few days before you are going to fake being sick, mix up oats, cocoa powder, leftovers, strawberry milkshake, and any other lumpy fluids you can think of. Leave them for about 3-4 days for the mix to look and smell like vomit.
The day before you are going to fake being sick, complain of stomachache, dizziness, feeling light-headed and of course, say that you feel sick. Go to bed early.
During that night, get up and shut yourself in the bathroom. Make retching noises, but do not actually do so as you could make yourself ill for real. When you come out, tell someone you thought you were going to be sick, but that nothing came.
The next morning, a while before you would normally be awake, pour about half of the fake mixture over your floor and bed, and even on yourself. Then rush noisily to the bathroom, so that someone wakes up. Say to them that you were sick, you didn't know it was going to happen, your stomach hurts, your throat hurts, you feel all shaky, and act apologetic.
Fake another couple of false alarm rushes to the bathroom during the day.
The next night, get up in the middle of the night, shouting that you are going to be sick. Make sure you sound desperate.
In the bathroom, pour most of the mixture remaining into the toilet, bath or sink. Splash the rest around the place you have "been sick", and again a little down your front.
Hide the container well.
While you are pouring the mixture, make gagging and retching noises. Shout exclaimations of pain, anguish and discomfort. This adds realism.
Act shaky and unsteady when you leave the bathroom.
During the next day, throw in a false alarm rush, and begin to make your "recovery". 2 days off, with a sickness bug. Voila!

It is important to note that this does not indicate an increase in the severity, just that the criteria for Phase 6 regarding the spread of the Novel H1N1 Influenza have been met.
