How did you operate the first computer?

By first, do you mean... First? The Medical Institute Learning Facility, Russia (MILF) was founded in 1632 by a wise man, known as Wilt "The Stilt, Illadelph, The Illy One" Chamberlan, named by the man himself, Bobbito Garcia AKA DJ Cucumber Slice, MC corn on the cob.

Back in 1632, the very first computer was designed by Bill Gates and Harry Potter.
With their combined technological wisdom, they formed the greatest invention known to man. The Computer. Commonly known as The Computer.

This device is know to have cured many unknown diseases, such as; Unknown Disease.25, Unknown Disease.1, Unknown Disease.953 and The Common Sadistic Arabian Flu.

The main function of this device was the "On" button.

what are the different classifications of computers according to their purpose?

What was the nation's first computer used by the military called?

Known as "ENIAC" the Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer was the first electronic computer used by the military. Financed by the U.S. Army, ENIAC was a general-purpose computer initially designed to calculate artillery firing tables.

Classification of computer according to speed?

When classified according to capacity, the computers can be classified into five groups. The five groups includes the super computers, the large computers, the medium sized computers, the mini computers and the micro computers.

Who is the father of stored program?

That cannot be determined. The idea was developed and discussed by several of the engineers working on the ENIAC design during WW2, but nobody bothered to record who first brought up the idea. The idea however was not used on ENIAC as the design was already frozen and it was necessary to build what they had if they hoped to finish it before the end of the war.

John von Neumann was the first to document the idea on paper, so he is commonly erroneously given the attribution, but he definitely did not develop the idea himself.

How much did fourth generation computers cost?

199999990000 well im trying to find out my not ask Thomas Edison

What are the evolution of computer?

Who is the Father of computer technology?

The father of computer technology name was Charles Babbage

Who created the first computer chip?

Geoffrey Dummer.

If you mean the microprocessor chip it was designed by Marcian Ted Hoff in 1971 and manufactured by Intel as the 4004.

If instead you mean the first digital IC chips used to build computers, I don't know who designed them but Texas Instruments made the chips (starting in 1962) for the Minuteman II guidance computer and Fairchild Semiconductor made the chips (starting in 1961) for the Apollo guidance computer.

Give four types of computer?

  • Microcomputers - Includes your desktop, tablet, smartphone and laptop
  • Minicomputers - computers having power scale less than that of Mainframes (Vax , PDP)
  • Mainframe computers - also called the "Big Iron" is mainly used in airports , banks and government institutes ( DEC 10 , NEC 610 )
  • Supercomputers- made for massive calculation/processing ( IBM Roadrunner , CX1 )

Why you use silicon chips in computers?

why we use silicon chips in computers?

  1. Silicon is cheap, it comes from sand.
  2. Silicon has a very wide operating junction temperature range (-55C to +150C).
  3. Silicon is very easy to process to make transistors and ICs.
  4. Silicon dioxide is an insulator, no other semiconductor has a solid insulating oxide.
  5. When circuits are built on a silicon chip they are either analog or digital building block circuits.
  6. The digital building blocks naturally build computers (especially now that we have building blocks as large as whole multi-core CPUs, etc.).

Before semi-conductors were used in computers, they had to use vacuum tubes which cost a lot, took up a lot of space, burned out quickly and so were unreliable, and used a lot of electricity. We could not have the modern computer without chips.

they are;small,compact and portable.

Silicon is the easiest elemental semiconductor currently usable to make ICs with. One of its most important properties is its oxide and nitride are insoluble solid insulators, this is not true for either germanium or carbon the other elemental semiconductors. Also silicon has a good operating temperature range (junction temperature up to 150C), germanium has much lower range and although carbon (as diamond) has much higher range (junction temperature up to 600C) it is too brittle for current process machines. All other semiconductors are alloys and are tricker and more expensive to process than elemental ones. Most important silicon is almost free, it can be extracted from any sand, the parent rock of sand, and of course sandstone which is made of sand.

What do you do with your computer?

Play games, watch things on youtube, create accounts on websites, look at things for fun, buy things, do homework, type stories, help othors that need help on wiki/ yahoo answers, install things, print things, submit pics to computor, etc. Good Luck!

Briefry explain the history of computer?

The computer was invented by man to help him process data more efficiently. Its evolution started with rudimentary calculating aids (mechanical) devised in the 17th century with improvements being made step by step to arrive at the advanced devices we have today.

When and why was the first computer invented?

various business, engineering, and scientific problems in the 1930s and 1940s (including problems raised in WW2) became too large and too time consuming to handle by conventional means, so techniques to automate their solutions were sought. many machines were designed and built: mechanical and electronic analog computers, mechanical and electronic digital computers, even hybrid computers (part digital part analog).

What advantage over vacuum tubes did transistors represent in computer design?

From an audio amplifier standpoint, transistors were primarily low-voltage, high current devices. Since loudspeakers were typically low-impedance, the transistorized circuit didn't require a transformer to help match the impedance; i.e. they were better matched. However, when a transistor "saturated" it "clips" abruptly, causing harmonics at the output. Vacuum tubes tended to "soft clip' which reduced the undesirable harmonics.

From another standpoint, transistors were smaller in size, didn't require high voltage power supplies, and dissipated less heat (i.e. more efficient).

What were the early computer tubes called?

Generally, they were called Vacuum Tubes.

There were many different kinds and models, such as the Selectron, and Williams Tube. Their purpose was to store data by using a complex electro-magnetic electron transferral process. This allowed them to store very small amounts of data per tube. Since they were electrically driven, cutting the power on them would cause data loss- the computer had to be on 24/7. Later developments of the technology solved this problem.

There were also non-tube based memories such as UNIVAC's Mercury Delay Line Memory, Piezoelectric crystal memory, magnetorestrictive coils, bubble memory, drum memory, twistor memory, and the most popular Core memory, or Magnetic Core memory.

How did the Missouri Compromise settle disputes between the north and the south?

The Missouri Compromise set kind of a boundary between slave states and free states. The states South of the Missouri border were labeled as "slave" states and those north were labeled "free" states.

How much was the first computer made worth?

A typical first generation computer system cost a couple million to buy outright or roughly $10,000 to $20,000 a month to lease. Most were leased instead of purchased, especially considering maintenance was included in the lease while if bought outright you had to get a separate monthly maintenance contract anyway and the first generation machines were rather unreliable.

How was called the first game in Computer?

Spacewar! on the DEC PDP-1. It was written by the same guy (Steve Russel) that wrote MIT's first real LISP compiler for the IBM 709 after discovering an algorithm for a key LISP function that even Mccarthy (LISP's inventor) thought could only be written for an interpreter.
