Cows and Cattle

Cattle (also commonly referred to as bovines or cows) are domesticated livestock that are raised for beef and/or milk in almost every corner of the world. Note: Cows are female mature bovines, Bulls are intact male bovines, Steers are castrated male bovines, and Heifers are female bovines that have not calved. Any questions about cows and cattle that are not covered in other cattle categories can be asked and answered here.

Is Goofy a cow or dog?

User Avatar
Goofy is an anthropomorphic dog. The character, originally named "Dippy Dawg," made his debut in a 1932 cartoon short called Mickey’s Revue. Months later, the same character surfaced in other cartoons looking younger, and by 1934, he was going by the name “Goofy.” In 2012, an internet rumor began circulating stating that Goofy was actually modeled on a breed of Scottish cow, but that has since been discredited. Some of the confusion may stem from the fact that Goofy is sometimes shown as having a romantic interest in the character of Clarabelle Cow. However, the two have notable differences in appearance—Clarabelle is clearly a cow due to her horns, short ears, and pronounced snout, none of which Goofy has. The resemblance between Goofy and Pluto, Mickey Mouse’s dog, is much more apparent.

How long do bulls live?

User Avatar
Most bulls will be on the farm/ranch until they're around 4 or 5 years old. By that time they start getting ornery and aggressive and need to be shipped to slaughter. Some bulls, however, will not get this way and live to be still productive past 15 years of age.

Is a cow's bladder edible?

User Avatar
Well, not really, since this is a part of the cow that is thrown away as waste or ground up for animal feed for pigs and chickens. So no, not for us humans. There really isn't much to eat of it anyways! Answer 2: Well, it is actually one of the wrappings for sausages and cold meat. So basically, unless you are a veggie, you have probably eaten loads of it already!

Do foxes kill cows?

User Avatar
No. A cow is much too big and heavy for a fox to kill. However, a fox CAN kill a cow if it has rabies and bites the cow, transferring the rabies virus to that cow. There is no treatment for rabies, so if a cow has rabies, this will kill her.
