Where is the crankshaft position sensor on a 99 olds intrigue 35 l v6 engine?

Step 1 : The Crankshaft Position Is located above the starer...

Step 2 : You have to remove the start which has 2 bolts...

Step 3 : Once you remove the starter remove the "Positive Cable" held on by a "10mm" bolt if I'm correct...

Step 4 : Once you have completely removed the starter remove the A/T brace I think it's 2 or 3 "10mm" bolts holding that on...

Step 5 : Once A/T is removed the Crankshaft Position Sensor should be visible...To easily identify there is a connector hanging out of it...It is located in the center of the block rite below cylinder 2, 4, and 6's exhaust manifold....

Step 6 : There is only 1 bolt keeping the sensor from coming out I believe it is either a "10mm" or "11mm"...once the bolt is out there is nothing keeping the Crankshaft position sensor from coming out except to O-ring...You can use a tire iron which I used but be VERY CAREFUL...Because the actually part that makes the sensor work could break off then you will need to drop the oil pan and push it through....

Hopefully This Helps...

How do you locate the crankshaft sensor on a 1998 kia sportage?

I have a 2001 Sportage and the crankshaft position sensor is located right where the engine and trans meet. I can not get to it from above as it is directy behind the dipstick by the firewall near the middle of the car. You will have to get to it from under the car. I could barely get my hand in that small space. There is one bolt holding mine on... but I can't figure out how to get the bolt off yet. Stick your hand up near the dipstick and the mounting bracket for the exhaust pipe. Unplug the one end and get that small bolt off and you're in business.

What is a crankshaft flying web?

In V6 engines using a 90 degree vee engine block (as used for V8 engine blocks naturally balanced in that arrangement, used for the V6 to save pruduction costs) the crankpin journals have to be splayed by 30 degrees to maintain an even firing order, and because the crankshaft only has 3 instead of 6 crankpin journals (which is even and balanced but not used in this case for the same production reasons as above). A crankshaft flying web is the thin webing that joins the split pins together, and of which is said to make these crankshafts considerably weaker than a 6 pin crank. This method is also used for the VW range of "W" 4, 6, 8, and 12 cylinder engines for similar reasons as highlighted above but involves a much more indepth explanation.

Is there a Cam shaft position sensor in a 1999 Saturn sl?

No. And you're probably asking because you're getting a "Service Engine" code relative to the cam pos sensor, P0340 or P0341. These codes, on these cars, usually mean you need to replace the spark plugs and/or wires, or clean up all the electrical connections (including grounds) related to the ignition system.

The fix is usually very cheap. Unfortunately, many auto parts stores don't understand this, and will, confused that they can't find a listing for a cam pos sensor, will go for something that only sounds similar by name, the crankshaft position sensor. In this case, that's a total waste of money, and does NOTHING for the P0340 or P0341 codes.

Where is the crank sensor for a 2005 Nissan Altima?

The crank sensor is on the right side of the engine if you are facing the car. It is on the side, it has a connecting wire and a 10mm bolt. To remove take the battery cable off first, then disconnect the wire and remove the bolt. The new sensor is not going to look like the old one but it will be okay. Also when you put the new one in the cable is going to plug in opposite of how you took it off that will okay as well. Before installing the new one take some clean oil and wipe it around the new sensor, replace the new sensor, replace bolt, & wire and you are in business. Whole process takes only 15 minutes.
