How do you change dashboard lights on a 1996 beretta?
If you mean the instrument cluster, it's actually kind of a pain in the butt.
You need a Phillips screw driver, flat head screw driver, and a 1/4" ratchet driver or Torx T6 driver.
1) Start by looking under the headlight switch, you'll see two screws. Remove those.
2) Now look under the wiper control switch, remove those two screws.
3) If your Beretta has a tilting steering wheel, move it as far down as you can.
4) Now this is the tricky part, because it doesn't seem like it's the right thing to do, but this is how you do it. Grab the curved plastic over instrument cluster and pull. You'll hear creaking sounds, then it will come loose, starting near the windshield then will come off.
5) Disconnect the headlight wiring harness
6) Disconnect the wiper wiring harness.
7) There should be 4 black screws along the white outer shell of the instrument cluster. Top Right, Top Left, Bottom Right and Bottom Left. Check all the way around because there may be two on top of the steering column as well. Use either the Torx or ratchet to remove all the screws.
8) Gently pull the instrument cluster out, and flip it over. You'll see a greenish/brown circuit board with white or black thumb screws. Those are the lights. Just turn the ones that are burnt and pull them out, pull the bulb out and replace.
Once you have all the lights replaced that are burnt out, just repeat the steps in reverse.
That is the charging system warning light. If it stays on or flickers it means the alternator is not outputting enough voltage to keep the battery charged. With a digital volt meter you should read from 13.5 to 15.5 volts at the battery with the engine running. If not the alternator or the voltage regulator is defective. The voltage regulator is more than likely built into the alternator.
On a 1988 Dodge Dakota 3.9l how do you reset the maintenance required light?
I have an 88 as well and my light was on for the longest time but since the 88 model has what they call an EMR module (Emissions Maint. Reminder) located below the headlight on the back of the instrument panel. So there is a little whole on the module that you can just push a screwdrive or something of that sort into the whole to reset the light.
What is wrong when your airbag light is blinking on a 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis?
If it's a driver's side air bag it could be a broken clock spring under the horn pad. The light is blinking it doesn't say which side. How would you know.
How do you change the instrument panel light of a Toyota Corolla 92?
You have to remove the instrument cluster to get to the bulb. start by removing the left speaker grill, lower left trim panel (5 screws), remove the steering column trim cover (6 screws), remove the cluster and trim bezels (9 screws), Remove the cluster by pulling it out ( 4 screws).
This is right. Just to add.
1. remove the cover that is above the steering column. THis cover is the one extending from the left side of the driver going to the center panel covering the aircon switches down to the DINs. There are just 4 screws for that.
2. remove that cluster bessel. this bessel is the one covering the cluster gauge to the clock and the stereo (head unit). After removing, you will see the bare clurster gauge.
3. unscrew the cluster gauge, there are 4 screws there i think. just search around it, it is easy to find actually.
4. pull the cluster gauge. for XL Corolla 92, there are 3 wiring sets connected at the back. Just unplug it. (it is like and ethernet cable that is used between your desktop and modem that needs to be pressed to release).
5. Here's the hardest part. removing the speedometer's cable. that's the biggest/thickest cable you can touch behind the gauge. It is hard to see it due to limited space. Find a way to reach that thick round cable, press hard then pull. Again, it is like a round ethernet cable that needs to be pressed to release it from the connection.
6. Once done, just get the cluster gauge and look at the back of it. just twist each black knob to remove it. inside each knob, you'll find your bulbs.
One suggestion, just replace it with LED bulbs. I think there are 4 bulbs for gauge's background lighting and for the rest of the bulbs are for the gauge icons (left signal light, right, door ajar icon, handbrake icon and etc.). just peep through each hole where the bulbs are plugged in to identify what bulb is for the background light and for icons.
LED bulbs in the philippines: 150 pesos for 2 pcs (43 pesos = 1 US dollar) while the regular bulb like the one you'll find in your dash is just 10 pesos (43 pesos = 1 US dollar). Dirt cheap. :)
Hope this helps.
What does a dash light that looks like a watering can mean on a 2005 caravan?
Low oil pressure warning light.
What does the warning light symbol red engine with a letter K inside mean in the peugeot 806?
I have a 306 with the same warning light symbol so I assume it means the same thing.
If so it's the engine management light, which means there's a fault somewhere in the engine. The car needs to be taken to a mechanic asap. The only way to discover the fault is with diagnostic equipment. If you continue to drive it there is a risk of doing irreparable damage and you'd have to replace the engine.
How do you get your instrument panel lights to work on my '88 Toyota Pickup?
Did you get the truck this way? Have the dash lights ever worked? There are too many different ways, for them not to work. Check your fuses first, bulbs second. Then I would go after the dimmer control switch. Check the wires going into and out from this switch for power. Don't forget about the other half of the power check! The ground(s). Usually it's something simple, if they worked, and then quit.

Here's what I do that works for me: put the key in and turn it to the accessory position, but don't start the car. Wait about 12 minutes. Start the car - it should work. (Sometimes I put the parking brake on to kill the headlights and prevent unnecessary drain on my battery while the key is in the ignition.)

Can you explain the dashboard symbols on a 1999 Toyota Camry?
Open your owners manual. Don't have one then get one. You need one very badly, if you do not know what the gages stand for. Sources are Dealer, Salvage Yard, Ebay, and many on-line sources. Search Google with the term, "Automobile Owners Manual".
How do you change instrument panel lights on a 1993 Honda Prelude?
Not sure about your '93 Prelude's procedure for accessing the instrument panel lights. I can speak in general, so you have an idea of what may be the best way to proceed. The instrument panel lights are located behind the dashboard which will have to be removed -- usually. Sometimes, they can be accessed from under the dash in some vehicles -- but this is becoming a rarity. The dealerships must love this, $500 to change a $2.00 bulb. Most dashboards have air bag circuits that have to be CAREFULLY disconnected (see a manual). Sometimes there are 12 or more studs that hold the dashboard to the frame. Sometimes the dashboard is separated into halves and you only have to remove one side. AS FOR MY PRELUDE, it says to disconnect the battery, loosen and lower the steering column assembly, remove the steering column covers, and then: '79 - '82 there a four screws to remove the bezel (clear plastic cover), remove the cluster's retaining bolts and before pulling the cluster out, reach behind it and disconnect the speedometer cable at the back. FOR '83 AND LATER: Remove the instrument cluster switches first by inserting the blade of a flat screwdriver in the groove in the base of each switch so you can pull the switches out and disconnect their wire harnesses. Remove the dashboard lower panel. On some models it may be necessary to lower the steering column for access. Then remove the instr. cluster bolts to remove the cluster. On later models the two rear screws are located under caps at the back of the housing which can be pried out with a flat bladed screwdriver for access. Remove the instrument cluster retaining screws squeeze the tab on the speedometer cable to speedometer collar and detach the speedometer from the cable. Pull the cluster out, unplug the wiring harness connectors and lift the cluster from the vehicle. Be sure you replace the lamps with THE EXACT replacements so they're not too dim or so bright that they burn out in a couple of months.
What mean red triangle light and the exclamation sign?
It is called the "Isolated Alert Triangle Sign" and it means: "Watch out!"
If you have led lights when the brake light warning switch is closed (foot on brake) because it has a predetermined voltage and the rig is change to led's there is a different voltage used, hence an error warning light. can get around it by adding the original lamp in series with the brake circuit out of the way somewhere say under the dash.
Speedometer stopped working in a Plymouth Neon how do you repair it?
Try to find the speedo-cable from the firewall down the the transmission. Usually on auto trannys the speedo head (the signal generator which is a gear basicly) is located on the top of the tranny, of course attached to the speedo cable. If it's a 'drive by wire' car and there's no cable - it will require more investigation.
Mymore likely the reason is the solder on the board for the cluster itself its actually very easy to fix and someone has mentioned it here and also on neons.org usally what happens is the way the neons gauges connect is pins with 2 connecters and the soider on the board itself needs to be reheated in a certain spot on the board itself this is very easy to do and the guide can be found herehttp://www.neons.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=18
also befor you start to check if this is the case while driving gentle press on the gauge face if the speedo moves then you know this is the problem.Another trick is for the bottom screws take a your screwdriver and hold it on a speaker magnet in the trunk for a min or so then remove the one bottom screw because of the horrible angle you less likely to drop the screw cuz the screw driver will be magnatized for a min or so making it easier to remove just take your time all will go well.
That's what fixed mine and many other peoples gauges.
The tutorials don't go into details on how one would remove the dash to access the instrument cluster. To do so simply pul lup on the top part of the dash which is only secured by re-usable clips. Once the top part is removed remove the 4 Philips that hold the instrument cluster. Be sure to pull the cluster towards you not up else you may damage the board. Another tip; make sure you get a solder iron which gets hot enough to melt the solder. The cheap ones will not get hot enough and you'll likely have to repeat the exercise. Good luck
brake fluid is low in resevoir. I have the same problem, but it's due to a sticky sensor. Either that or your handbrake is on!!

What is the ETS light and what does it mean?
It stands for Enhanced Traction System, and it helps both tires during slippery conditions.
First your remove the fancy plastic molding of the dash. it's usually held on by just a few screws. After this it is easy to access the instrument panel, which again is held in by a few more screws. You might have to work the parts a little to get them to come out and go back in. The dash light, or instrument light, is located on the back of the instrument panel. Most dash lights are a simple twist in variety.
