2000 VW Jetta air bag light stays on?
I have a 2000 VW Jetta.I was driving and the air Bag light came on.For no obivious reason.Thank you
I had this happen on my 2001 VW GTI, the dealer said the sensor was dead in the seat belt female end, I had it replaced.
The light come on when the system detects a problem and sets a trouble code. You should have it diagnosed by a trianed technician. The airbag system is not for do it yourselfers.
The light is on because there is a problem with the air bag system. When the air bag light is on the system is not working and will not deploy in the event of an accident. When the air bag light is on the system has set a code(s) in the computer. A scanning device can retrive the code(s). The code(s) will give you a clue where the problem is. Many auto parts stores will read the code(s) from your vehicles computer for zip if you purchase the parts necessary to repair the vehicle from them.
The green 'D' light on the dash panel might flash on a CRV 2002 Sport when it is in motion, because it is telling the driver that the transmission needs to shift to a higher gear. If the vehicle is equipped with Overdrive, this gear should be used unless towing a trailer. If the vehicle has a manual transmission, it is telling the driver to shift to a higher gear.
oil pressure is created by the oil pump, which is driven mechanically as the engine turns, and the faster it revs the harder it pumps. It should deliver enough pressure at idle for the light to stay off. Your problem is either a worn oil pump or your oil is too thin and needs changing. If you have an old engine, put in a heavier oil. Penrite 50 is good. Hi another possibility is your idle is set too low Also, you could have a bad or weak pressure release valve in your oil pump. (AKA bypass valve). In addition, if the oil has not been changed in a long time the oil filter may be filled with sludge reducing the pressure. Changing the oil and filter first to heavier oil is a good first step.
Your engine bearings may be worn and letting too much oil escape, resulting in low pressure when the oil pump is running slower (when the engine is running at idle). Revving the engine too high can cause damage to the rod bearings and allow oil to escape too easily. If your engine has a lot of miles on it, or if it has been run without changing the oil regularly, your engine will have a lot of wear. The oil pump, main bearings, rod bearings, and camshaft bearings may all have a lot of wear on them allowing the oil to easily escape without allowing pressure to build up. Rebuilding your engine may be needed. But try changing the oil pump first.

How do you replace the speedometer cable for the 1986 Honda accord?
Easy. I have an 87 Accord, so it's probably similar. First you find the speedometer cable that runs across the top of your engine and into the side of the transmission. On the other end it enters the fire wall right where the instrument cluster is. You will unclip the end that is attached to the transmission and pull the cable out. In my case, the broken end was at the other end by the instrument cluster. You have to just start taking out screws to get take out the instrument cluster. Once you get that out, the cable simply clips in there as well. Viola, replace the cable. Easy. I have an 87 Accord, so it's probably similar. What does it mean when the handbrake and stop symbol flash on the Renault megane dashboard?
It means dont drive your car. There would be a fault within the braking system. It could be simply a case of topping up brake fluid. Use correct grade, the megane scenic uses dot4, I assume the normal megane does too, check tho, it will be imprinted on reservoir cap. It could also be the hand brake sensor faulty. Also check your brake pads and shoes, discs/drums etc.

Tuesday, May 15, 2007 My 2000 Grand Caravan ES gave me a surprise when I turned on the car. Many of the dash panel indicators were not are working. The speedometer stays at zero while the tachmeter was stuck at about 800RPM. The gas gauge was stuck somewhere in the middle where I think it last prior to the problem starting. The Door Ajar and Cruise indicator lights were also on and none reset when the car started or while driving. I checked all fuses without finding anything wrong so I headed to the internet in a search for answers. While searching I stumbled across a similar issue described at http://www.automotivehelper.com/topic427728.htm . This issue was answered by a mysterious vipergg which end up solving my problem. Neither to say I am grateful to this mysterious person. Here is what I did: Open your hood and look for the fuse and relay center just above the battery. Open the cover and look for a fuse called IOD and/or Memory IOD. It usually located away from the front (towards the top of the block) in the center, they are labeled . Remove the IOD fuse for 20 seconds and then reinsert. The BCM becomes hung and this will reset it in a lot of cases. Let us know how it works out. What do the signs on the Toyota spacio computerized dash board mean?
The signs indicate the status of the airbag, lights, and cruise control. By using the computerized dashboard, you will know if the air bag is on or off. You will know if you are using your high beam or low beam lights.
Your brakes need bleeding. And if you have antilock brakes, you should take it to a shop to bleed them. It takes special tools to bleed antilock brakes. If you have regular brakes you can bleed them yourself. Could go into further detail but would take too long to explain. Refer to a repair manual.
Note: bleeding antilock brakes without first disconnecting the sensor will damage the sensor and the antilock function will no longer work (learned the hard way, unfortunately).
