St Johns Wort has the same affect as 5HTP,they are both precursors of serotonin. Serotonin being the precursor to Melatonin. Keeping it simple if you take melatonin then start on a low dosage 1.5mg-3mg taking . Larger doses not being analogous to being more affective. Also if your body is low in Melatonin then it will work. If you find you take it and it doesn't have the desired affect with in a short time then your body has enough Melatonin and is not the reason you are experiencing sleep problems and you don't need it. Also some people report experiencing depression and dark moods with melatonin this possibly due to the body not requiring the extra melatonin. It may be better to try supplementing them separately to see which works best. Some people do well on only 5HTP. It is interesting to note that 5HTP-serotonin are produced during the day ready to be converted when darkness sets to be transformed into Melatonin. Also there is a very strong connection with Vitamin D deficiency and insomnia and depression. Vitamin D is the Sunshine hormone so that would also be worth looking into. A deficiency in the daytime hormones or their precursors can affect melatonin levels. Just take note of how you react to each one separately and base your judgment on that.

You might take acetaminophen with ibuprofen. You might take acetaminophen with Naprosyn. But you CAN'T take ibuprofen and naproxen (Naprosyn) together, as long as both drugs are NSAID and works on the same receptors. Naproxen is a little bit more powerful than ibuprofen.

It depends on what drugs you may be taken because the drugs would be interacting with the nutrients. Your best (and safest) bet would be to ask a pharmacist if there are any interactions listed between the drugs and supplements you're taking. Doctors and pharmacists both have access to a database of drug and supplement interactions and they can tell you quickly if you can safely take them together or not.... anyone here will just have a best guess from searching on the internet (which isn't always accurate, as we all know) ;-)

i really need to know the answer to this question also. my ear is very stuffy and i cant hear out of it, but the doctor already put me on Cefprozil (Cefzil) for my OTHER ear infection from two days ago. this one just started a few hours ago. im pretty sure mucinex will help the stuffiness in my ear. i just don't know if i can take it with cefzil.

yes it can. i take a 10mg melatonin everyday to help with my insomnia, snd my girlfriend has trazzy's. i took one a 50mg and it worked better than 3 shots of tequila. woke up really late tho. that's about the only bad side effect.

It's never safe to take heroin....well that's what they say. I found heroin to be quite safe, in any amount, and have absolutely no interaction whatsoever with my hefty prescription regimen. It has enhanced my life in many ways. Dean's list, love life off the charts, and it has opened my eyes to philanthropic pursuits. Obviously those who claim it's addicting have never tried it. You may not realize it, but you are talking about 3 different drugs right now. When you say oxycodone 325mg, you are most likely referring to percocet, which is made up of oxycodone (the opiate) and acetaminophen (aka Tylenol). The most common dosage of each drug is Oxycodone 5mg, acetaminophen 325mg. So if you look at the prescription bottle, it will probably say "Oxycodone/APAP 5/325." APAP is an abbreviation for the chemical name for acetaminophen. The third medication you asked about is ibuprofen. This is the generic for advil and motrin. It is in the family of NSAIDs-Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs. There are no significant interactions between ibuprofen-acetaminophen-oxycodone. More important are side effects and your reasons for needing all these medications. Most important side effects: Acetaminophen- liver toxicity if too much is taken, the general rule is no more than 4 grams per 24 hour period. This number is decreased in the presence of other factors, ie. malnutrition, chronic alcohol abuse, etc. But most people do not approach the limit and therefore, acetaminophen is a relatively benign drug. Ibuprofen can have significant side effects. It can cause gastric distress and bleeding, increased bruising of the skin throughout the body, and even kidney problems. 800 mg of ibuprofen is a very high dose, if you do take that much, please make sure to take it on a full stomach. Oxycodone, like other opiates, has risk of addiction and all of its problems. Other side effects include constipation, urinary retention, sedation, and acute toxicity leading to respiratory depression --> failure--> death. With all of this information, think about why you need this combination of medicines. If you have enough pain, whatever the cause is, I suggest you see a doctor for a thorough evaluation. If you have seen a doctor and received the percocet prescription, but its not enough so you are considering adding ibuprofen, go back to your doctor and tell him/her you are still in pain.
