I'm trying to find out the answer myself. I think I read somewhere in the net that it's in the back of the engine, I think attached to it. it's metallic and it has two little hoses or tubes coming out it (electrical perhaps).

Try retracing your steps. Check everywhere you were touching things, perhaps you accidentally knocked a vacuum hose loose. If the plugs can be adjusted, make sure they're gapped properly. If you have a voltmeter i'd check the resistance of the plug wires to make sure they're ok. Acceptable resistance of the plug wires vary from car to car. But obviously, the lower the better. It is not so much how it affects the sensors themselves, but how much it affects the engine management computer (ECM). The sensors will notice the change in the exhaust gasses and the computer will try to compensate for the change. This often results in poor running, reliability issues, and poor gas mileage. There are however, o2 sensor simulators available aftermarket, though I have no experience with them.

If you failed the emission tests because of HIGH NoX but everything else passes with flying colors, Schooling tells you have a bad EGR Valve/System.

may have unplugged something, may have hooked it up wrong, check all your connections, if you cant fix it, take it to a mechanic.
What kind of car first. The car should turn over regardless of what you did with the egr and throttle body. Except possibly the electrical connection to the injector. but even then I think it should turn over. Check the battery cables, check that the battery hasn't run down for some reason, check if you can where you may have put your hand leaning over the car. Dislodged a connection there. No reason to have been around it, but the solenoid wire on the starter. Bumped that and knocked it off.

it might need just a tune up. plugs wires etc. if not, look into your coil or electronic ignition system. try running some fuel injector cleaner through it first to see if it might be injector issues too

If that doesn't work, than you didnt fix the problem. ford had a big problem with the dpfegr sensor the light comes on because a problem is present in this case the dtc will probley be p0401 egr low flow auto zone can pull dtc free replace dpfegr sensor (dealer part only )then clear dtc auto zone can clear it or disconect the battery 15 min
